In a lucid dream, can you like read a book, and when you wake up, have remembered that book? :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :?
If your dream recall is good, I'm sure you could. The only thing is, the content of the book would be entirely made up by your mind, so you couldn't read, say a Stephen King book that you've never read in real life, and expect that you would be reading the actual story that King wrote. You'd be reading your own version of the story.

It would be an interesting thing to try if you're looking to write a book, just to see what your subconscious mind comes up with.
Adding to TygrHawk, print is usually difficult for many people to read because it changes frequently or can be blurry. Some people, like me, can read print, but it usually doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

an aquaintance of mine used to pick up newspapers in his lucid dreaming. the words would appear for him as his eyes scanned the page. actually you can pick up any object in your dream and read, doesn't have to be a book. for instance, you might pick up a silver platter and see what's engraved. a problem is that sometimes the information doesn't translate to waking life. i tried to read a book once in a dream but all i got were the cliffnotes
I have read things in non-lucid dreams (haven't gotten around to trying it in a lucid dream yet) several times before that have seemed to make pretty good sense, and actually seem quite impressive. The problem is that I rarely remember exactly what I've read, though if I'm lucky I may remember a phrase or sentence of it after waking up. I often have to be very quick to note it down, though, and even then there are usually some uncertanties regarding exact wording or numbers (if any).
I don't see why one couldn't remember more of what they read if they were talented, practiced a lot, or just got extremely lucky.
And while I always have the impression that what I read in dreams makes sense and is surprisingly well written, I will not be sure of that until I actually remember a significant portion of what I read upon waking up so I can evaluate it while fully alert. My judgment can be very strange in dreams.

The answer to that is that is no....unless you look beyond dreaming.

No... don't mind her :P You can touch the book and read it (but usually the letters would be all messed up anyways :P)
