I sometimes make things happen that I don't mean too
hi i'm a newbie, I've had a few lucid dreams but like many people i get frustrated when things don't work the way i want them to and i end up waking myself up. this morning i had a lucid dream that i was in a department store first i tried to change the colour of this toys eyes to blue but instead they glowed red, i kept trying to change other people in the dreams eyes but they also went red it was relly creepy. i have tried to fly a couple of times but always just end up falling in slow motion or just pushing off from the ground like i'm swimming. does anyone have any tips for staying asleep and also why do some of the things i try to make happen go the opposite way or not turn out quite right.
thanx

I think the frustration you feel might be a key thing here...after all, it's only a dream, and you can do whatever you like right? There's no time limit, you're not going to get chucked out of a dream for not achieving an objective. Maybe you should try relaxing a little more. It seems you've got the hang of becoming lucid and staying there, all you need to do now is work on your dream control. I suggest staying focussed on your intention, but not so focussed that you lose the dream entirely. Try and view it as something you want to do, but try and retain a level of detachment. A sort of complacency if you will, tell yourself that it's easy to do.
Pm me if you have any more questions, and i'll do my best to help. Also, have you posted in the dream control section? You might find some tips there...
