How do you dream? How do you see things?

In this page it seems like people are saying that they are like there when there dreams are happinging and if they see a "dream sign" they realize they are dreaming. But dreams for me no matter how realisticly i remember them i wake up and then remember it..its like this for example (i wake up and realize i dreamed about swimming in the ocean with birds or something) So i have a question, when you become lucid in a dream is it like you appear there and your like were am i?? Or is it like reality, are you swimming and then you realize that a bird under water means a dream and you had no idea.. then you remember going to sleep and stuff and your like swwet im lucid? i know my question is kinda of out there and hard to understand but please answer if possilbe Thank You!

When I become lucid in a dream, it remember the dream, it is just that I now know I am dreaming. Here is an example from one of my most recent dreams where I realized I was dreaming by a dreamsign.

Am driving down a snowy road. I know I shouldn't be, but I am going waaaayy to fast. I enter a curve and the car is doing OK, suddenly, the curve gets tighter and tighter, I realize that I will never be able to hold the car on the road and I will skid off the side of a huge cliff.

I have a moment of panic and know that this is it, I am going to die. Adrenaline peaks in my blood and my heart races.

Suddenly, I realize that this is a dream sign, losing control in my car is a pretty reliable one for me.

I realize that I am in a dream, the car disolves, and I am floating in mid air looking at the scenery. I will myself to fly and take off at high speed for the distant horizon.

Most of my dreamsign lucid dreams are like the one above. Hope this answers your questions
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I've never heard of anyone realising they were in a dream and remembering all the way back to when they fell asleep. I've never been aware of a dream beginning. It's just as if you've always been in that world, everything seems normal, and then something triggers your common sense and you know you're dreaming.

For me, I usually become lucid at the very beginning or near the very beginning of a dream, often for no apparent reason. I just seem to know where the dream started for some reason, just like I usually think I know where non-lucid dreams start--I just don't remember anything occurring before that point. But I admit I've never tried to remember back to before the dream to see what I come up with. I want to try that some day. I wonder if I'll "remember" something totally unexpected.

Really? I've had a lot of dreams like that, where it starts out like a normal dream, and then something causes me to become lucid. But I still remember the whole dream, including the non-lucid parts. Check out my Dream Journal for some examples, if you like -- the ones marked "SL" (Spontaneous Lucidity).

That's kinda what happened to me. I just got this weird feeling, probably because my dream started with me doing exactly what I'd been doing before bed, then I realized I was dreaming. I did sort of go, "Sweet, lucid dream." though. XD

I've had a lot of short lucid dreams lately, they usually don't last more than 2 min, and then i wake up right after.
When i become lucid, the biggest change is the dream's vividness, it's like a tissue covering my eyes had been removed, and everything becomes clear as in real life. I also become more aware of my other senses: for example when i start speaking, i can perfectly hear my voice. It's really amazing!

i'm not sure if i perfectly understand your question, but to sum it all up, being lucid is none other than staying in your dream, while knowing that it's a total fantasy inside your mind. For example if you're swimming in the ocean, and then suddenly becoming lucid, you'll usually keep swimming but this time, you'll feel the contact of the water with your skin, and be more aware of your surroundings.

      hope that helps!

      Lucid Tutor...

Might that be Salvadore Dali you use as an avatar?

      I love surrealism...so close to LD'ing

Shyne...I have begun to rely more on cues than I used to. However, WBTB always land me smack dab in the middle of LD land. Always, if even for a short time.
