I almost accidentally did a WILD

I went to sleep at about 12:30 AM and woke up at a little after 2:00 AM. I was still thinking about the dream I just had as I was getting back to sleep. Then I started to feel like I was vibrating, there was a little pressure in my chest, I heard a voice that was laughing and was kind of distorted, and I heard an alarm sound. I knew what was happening, but I had never done one before. I wasn't sure what to do, so I started to breath a little faster. I didn't see any images, just black. I wasn't able to fall asleep. What should I have done to fall asleep?
