Hi everyone -question-

[size=15]A couple days ago I decided to look into lucid dreaming and found this forum. I have had to in the last few months (only two i\'ve ever had (i think)). The first one I was at some boarding school walking with some friend(who doesn\'t exist in real life), and suddenly I realized "I\'m Dreaming! This isn\'t real! I can do Anything!" I didn\'t try anything becasue I was to buy thinkning this is so cool 8) and woke up right after.

The next one I was running away from someone (don\'t remember who) and then I realized I was dreaming. I then tried something in between a douglas adams approach (jump and miss the ground) and flapping my wings like a bird while jumping off a waterfall. this allowed me to sort of glide over some fence and house till I landed at which point i started running and jumping and flapping my arms so I could fly short distances)

Does the fact that I got some control on my second lucid dream signify that i have an above average ability at dream control?

Hi, gilix. Welcome to the forum! :welcome: It's great to know that you already have some experience in LDs. In regards to your question, you definately have a well defined ability. My first couple of LDs were very shaky and I didn't really understand the concept of dream control. I think your ability ranges from about average to perhaps a little above. You are doing really great. Keep working at your ability and there will be no limit to what you will be able to do.

Okay, i am new to this whole lucid thing. I have two questions. Is it possible to accidently kill yourself while trying to have a lucid dream? and How do you have a lucid dream?

Welcome to the forum, danni! We are happy to have you here! In regards to your questions: 1. No, it is not possible to kill yourself in the real world in an LD, unless you sleepwalk off of a cliff or something. It might be possible to die in the lucid dream, but you would reamin unharmed and your dream might just go in a different direction. 2. http://www.dreamviews.com/tutorials.php These are our tutorials. I have a couple more questions I can think of right now. How long does it generally take to start developing any dream recall whatsoever? I am just starting, so I\'m not surprised I haven\'t had intentional dream recall yet, but I find it odd :? that the last recalled dream I had was of my second lucid dream ever, which was months ago

Welcome to the forum, gilix! :)

Developing good dream recall is different for everyone, but your most important tool will be your dream journal. Getting into the habit of recording your dreams seems to have a very positive effect on dream recall.

On a side note, it was extremely difficult to read the last paragraph of your post in that light blue color. Maybe in the future, just stick with one easily readable color. :wink:

Just some friendly advice: if you want people to be able to read your posts, stay away from the fancy font colors, especially the lighter ones.

What might be normal for someone else might not be for you. There are a lot of factors that can affect your dream recall including (but not limited to): amount of sleep you get, amount of stress in your life, amount of intoxicants you ingest.

If you want to improve your recall (and you should, if you want to lucid dream), start a dream journal. Keep a notepad close to your bed, and as soon as you wake up, write down whatever you can remember about your dreams, even if it's just the slightest feeling, thought, person, place, or thing. You'll probably find that once you start writing, you'll start remembering more.

Errr.... sorry, but I have no idea what you mean here. I don't understand how you can know that you woke up 10 minutes earlier, if you don't realize that you've woken up until 10 minutes later.
