Welcome to the forum White Giant! I hope we can answer some of your questions and help you with your lucid dreaming.
As for your question, i am not sure about it as i am not very experienced at it yet... but from what i can gather from reading about other peoples experience it differs from person to person.
Welcome, i'm lucid about once a week but it was more often when i was bothering to write down my dreams. I think some people at this forum r often lucid every night though.
It depends on the person. I don't have them every night...in fact it has been about 3 or 4 weeks since one :cry:Quote:

Welcome to the forum, btw!
I've only had 2. :(
I am not that old of a LD'er myself either, but in my experience I can pretty much get lucid every night if I use the WILD or MILD method, after waking up from 6 hours of sleep and staying awake for 30 minutes. This generally does it for me, although sometimes I am to tired or lazy to do this. I have only been trying these methods out for like a week though, so don't think I am the authority on this subject. Besides it varies for each individual.
When I just do it the old fashion way it could be about one LD a month.
I've been LDing for 12 years now. But in the last 5 months, I've been working on it in ernest.
I LD an average of 3-4 times a week. Mainly using dreamsigns.
I've been able to use MILD a few times and WILD just once. But hey, they are coming WAY more often that they were 5 months ago.
My long term goal is two a night.
I don't have one every night, but I COULD. Let me explain.....
If I definitely want to have one, I think about it a lot before bed, and I also set my alarm for 3am or so. I wake up and read a book (about lucid dreaming helps) for a half hour, then go back to bed. This almost always results in a WILD or at least a regular lucid dream.
Lately, since I've been coming to this site and have been thinking about it a lot more often, I've been having them 4-5 times a week. I'm also under more stress at work, which has always made lucid dreaming more likely for some reason.
Tjhands has says it right, i'm sure many of us could have one every nite, but it may take time or energy to set it up. Usually the busier my life, more stressful, etc... less energy for lucid dreaming... i'm a believer in simplifying life to free up energy in order to do more lucid dreaming.
i've been doing lucid dreams/obe's for over 12 years and have had thousands of lucid dreams. I generally have followed the way prescribed by Tjhands, which is sleep, wake up at early morning for 1/2 hour to 1 hour then do lucid dreaming... generally works great.
I try to WILD alot but I guess I just suck to much because I always end up a couple of hours later thinking "huh? Oh fuck, I fell asleep"
