A Hello, and some info.
So Hi. I found this site yesterday and have spent quite a few hours on it since that time. I have been interested in dreams for years now, and have done research on lucid dreams over the years as well. I am so excited that I found this forum.
I have decent dream recall, remembering 1 dream almost every night, sometimes more than 1. I have just recently started keeping a dream journal. I have had a few lucid dreams in the past, though never intentionally, and I have not had any control in them that I am aware of.
Two nights ago I first read the steps to having a WILD. Without doing much further research on other methods, I attempted those steps. This is what happens:
I lie in bed, relaxed, but my mind is all over the place. Eventually, my body will start to shake a little and my eyes start to dart around under my closed eyelids. But then I'm aware of what's happening and I remember that I am awake and trying to dream. This happened a few times each night I tried (for the past 2 nights).
So this is where I stand. Is the shaking and eye movement a step in the right direction or what? I never feel like I was asleep. I know what I am doing the whole time. So, any suggestions would be great.
I look forward to learning a lot and soon having some LDs.

Welcome to the forum! :welcome: You've definitely found the right place for learning about LDing. And you've already got a great head start already having LDs before - how did you achieve lucidity in the past?
Your dream recall is excellent as well. I'm sure you'll find your dream journal to be an integral tool in the process.
Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have along the way. The community is great! :D
To answer your question, your vibration experience in relation to WILDing is common. It even has it's own smiley! :vibes:

Burns, I became lucid in the past mostly through nightmares.
Once, I was in a graveyard and a ghost kept coming at me, slowly but surely, and I was backed up against a tombstone. In that moment, I knew that I was dreaming, but instead of taking control of the dream, I told myself that if I could move my arm I would wake up and be safe. I kept saying "move your arm! move your arm!" until I did, and I awoke.

welcome feynaro!
yeah, the WILD shakes can be frustrating, especially when you are like, "rats!, now im getting more awake instead of drifintg into a lucid dream." I havnt found WILD to be the best technique for me either, but you might see if repeating some phrase like "i am dreaming" helps at all when you feel the effects coming on :)

Welcome to the forum! It's great to have you. First off, WILD is a great technique, but requires LOTS of practice. I mean, nobody is just going to try it and get it the first time. It is something that one must perservere in, to accomplish. You are definately heading in the right direction. Vibrations are a great sign. However, if you do not want to dedicate weeks/months to this technique, try another. You may want to experiement with techniques, and combinations of them. Just keep at it.
