Hey everyone
Hi, I\'m Kat. I\'m 15-years-old, but I first read about lucid dreaming in when I was 11 (6th grade). I was interested, but my life was sort of rocky then.
So, the main reason I want to learn how to LD is to stop having nightmares. I can\'t remember the last time I had a dream that wasn\'t a nightmare, sometime before 6th grade. It got a lot worse two years ago, and I stopped sleeping. In retrospect, that was a stupid thing to do, but I did worse things that year and in some ways I think it helped keep me from going crazy.
Recently I did a stint in the hospital for a suicide attempt, sleep deprivation, mania - all that good stuff. I\'ve gotten desperate to stop having so many nightmares because I think that might help some of my problems.
Any suggestions?

i think lucid dreaming is probably the best way to vanquish nightmares. if you have ten bucks you can get "exploring the world of lucid dreaming" by stephen laberge, but it's not completely necessary since most of the info here is adapted from his research. here's a tutorial, if you haven't already seen it. in my experience, i have learned that when i am in a situation that is mind-blowingly terrifying (which seems to have only happened in dreams) it is best to just accept whatever fate has in store, and it generally stops being unpleasant almost immediately. hope that helped

You can indeed stop your nightmares through LDs. This is a thing that is commonly done in them. Actually, in the book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, by Stephen LaBerge, this issue is addressed quite thourally. It may be to your advantage to read it.

Here's the link to the copy of EWOLD that I bought. I hear there's an online version you can download, too, but I don't know anything else about it other than that.
Like the others said, I'm confident you can control your nightmares through LDing. Try some of the techniques listed in the tutorials and be sure to post any questions you may have. Also feel free to contact a Dream Guide if you'd like.
Think positive and be confident that you can do this (because I know you can). Good luck!

Ooh, I\'m interested. Any chance they have it at Borders/Barnes & Nobles? I\'ll have trouble convincing my dad this is important :P
The tutorial was helpful, but I think I need to start waaaay at the beginning. And (actually) I should be trying to sleep right now, so I\'ll write down whatever wakes me up later. Thanks for answering so quickly!
