Nevermind, sorry
Hey there and welcome to the forum!
What an interesting dream history you have! I don't pretend to be an expert at dream interpretation, since I believe the best person to interpret our dreams is ourselves. Which is why I don't post in the Dream Interpretation forum. But anyway...
I'd have to say that the people you dream about are your dream characters - not necessarily dream guides, as you also pointed out. How often would you say you have these dreams? It's such an interesting concept to have all those dream friends in a continuing dream like that. Do your dream characters ever show up in other dreams, or only the ones with the epic war?
I wouldn't say you're having OBE's, dream sharing, or astral projection - for one, because I'm not even sure I believe all that stuff - but also because it just doesn't sound like the experiences I've read about. I think these dreams are very meaningful to you, therefore they are more memorable and emotional, so you think it must be more than a normal dream.
You know what I would do, I would try concentrating on your dream characters before bed. Visualize what they look like and how they act - every detail. Then tell yourself that the next time you see them, you will remember that you're dreaming (and become lucid) - kinda like a mix of MILD and a common dreamsign reality check. Keep repeating this to yourself every night, and see what happens. Maybe one of these times you can become lucid and get more answer out of these dreams.
Anyway, glad you found the forum - the tutorials are a great place to start if you're overwhelmed with information. Also, if you enjoy reading, you should check out Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge (commonly refered to as EWOLD on this forum). Read LDing-related stuff before falling asleep - it really helps.
Good luck and have fun! :D

No problem! :) I hope you find the information you are looking for. Good luck with everything!
Dear 1theytrust,
Well, progressive or not, the continuity of the 6 people make the dream recurring to the extent that, well, you are keeping with these six people.
Now, ordinarily I would say that recurring dreams indicate that some choice is not being made correctly. Now, dreams never reoccur exactly the same way. Hints, clues, oracles are given in order to help us arrive at the proper choice, that choice which we have been failing to make.
So let me ask... do you like these people? Is it healthy for you to continue on and on with these people? Could you live without these people? Who is in charge? Does each person have a particular role? What is your place in all of that? COULD YOU LEAVE?
It may be that you are duty bound to be with these people. You mention a War. Well, War is very much the same as duty. One hardly has a choice, does one? I once had a series of dreams of being the Young King's Chief of Security... I started out as his Body Guard and soon had the entire department under my order. And it never occurred to me that the job was optional. How can one walk out on his Duty to a King. So your War may have a similar dynamic. However, my Young King Security Dreams are not so insistent and 'progressive' as your Six Musketeers Dreams.
I wonder if you think you have any choices or options. Could you be free to go?
If I could leave, walk away, or do without these dreams, believe me, I would have been done so a LONG time ago, as I certainly haven't really enjoyed having twelve years devoted to this 'problem' that I can't fix.
I'm sorry if I sound frustrated, but that's just it, I am. I have even tried hypnosis to get rid of the dreams. It doesn't work. I have tried every technique I have read about, and nothing has worked. If I don't remember the dreams, then I am still left with the lingering emotions and feelings I get from the dreams. To me, its as if I am LIVING the dreams, not dreaming them, but at the same time, I know I am dreaming when I have them. I am fully aware that it is not 'real life', and that I am asleep in bed. But I still feel like I have a memory, not a dream.
I think what I need is a pyschiatrist, not a dream analysis. Thank you both for your time, I appreciate your trying to help, but I know now what I have to do. If you are an admin or something, please delete my account.
I have an update below. It is not shameful, in my opinion, to seek help from a professional when one doesn't feel 'right'. I am just glad I did and was able to rule things out.
:hrm: okay.... Good luck... :?Quote:

Such a shame though. This is one of the most interesting dream experiences I've read about so far, but it definitly didn't seem to me like he needs a psychiatrist.
The1, if you read this, please explain why you're worried about your mental health because of these dreams and please let the people in this forum help you. Dream interpretation probably isn't what you need, but other dreaming related things can most definitly solve the problem of recurring nightmares or dreams. Lucid dreaming for instance, can very well do so.
nevermind this reply :P
I thought I had been deleted, but to my surprise I got a PM for Christmas and was able to log in.
I suppose, now that I am here, I will explain a few things.
First, I joined another dream forum, and after doing some research and meeting a nice young man, was able to understand that the characters in my dreams were actually my Spirit Guides. They were trying to contact me.
He was very helpful in interpreting the dreams, and not only did his interpretations make perfect sense, they opened up new doors in my life. Many wonderful things have happened simply by my acknowledging who my dream characters were and are.
I no longer have the epic dreams I had in the past.
I also want to add that I have made quite a few successful WILDs as well, and let me say, those are just awesome!
I probably won't come back to this board, but I just thought an update was in order. All I needed was to understand what the dreams were to take off on the wonderful journey I have been on!
I'm glad to hear it worked out for you :)
