Yello!
Greetings :)
I've always been interested in LDing, but I've never been serious until now. I'm getting a Dream Journal prepared for tonight, and I'll start jottin' down my dreams :)
How long do you guys think I should wait jotting stuff down till I try a LD? I know it's probably different for everyone, but just asking 8) Or should I try LDing right away and write all my dreams down at the same time?
Anyway, DV seems like a great place, and in two weeks I'll probably look for an Adopter :D
Edit: What is a Dream Guide? I saw on a post about flying where you could summon your Dream Guide and he/she can tell you how to fly. I'm guessing the Guide is there for other things, but I was j/w. Again, what is it?
Nother Edit: NM, found what a guide is :)
Sweet dreams, Kav.

First welcome to DV's :)
Well you could wait on trying LDing until you get really good dream recall, but its possible to have a really clear LD the night you start.
But yeah it is different for everyone. Just remember the more you practise the closer you will get to a LD and trust me its worth the wait
Good luck :D

I would go for an LD and work on recall at the same time since while recall helps remember the dream better, LDs are more memorable than regular dreams, and there is a good chance that you will remember it anyways if you have one, even if you don't remember many details. It also takes time to get good at LDing, so if you do both they will improve together, and as you improve recall, your LDs will be more frequent and better, and you'll remember all the juicy details that you don't really have in low level LDs anyways.

Thanks for the Replies!
Last night I tried LDing... something interesting happened when I was about to fall asleep.
I did the MILD technique which KINDA worked, it seems. I focused on the location I wanted to be, then I saw things moving (having to do with the area I was in) for a bit like I was dreaming, but I was aware of what was happening. I could tell I wasn fully dreaming yet, but I was afraid I'd fall asleep, so I opened my eyes.
I don't think I was in a full dream state, but I think what happened was that I was aware what was happening, and I was starting to go through the stages of sleep.
I wasn't well focused, and I could tell. That's a reason why I woke myself up. This time I'll try a different location, but in the REAL world :)
The thing I was imagining:
I was a Jedi standing there waiting until I had control, basically. I had the image that I had my saber up and was waiting until the image and surrounding came to life.
What was moving: just the atmosphere was different from the picure. I can't explain it. A creature from the Star Wars series was moving and dancing, too.
;)
Edit: It's funny. My dreams are usually very weird. All of my dreams that have weird things, in my dream, I think it's prefectly normal. Like this:
Last night at one point, I was pedaling a bicycle that turned a motor and was VERY loud, and it had no handle bars. I thought it was perfectly normal and just hung on to the bike's frame with one hand.
That's obviously not normal. I think with dream recall and using the MILD tech., it will clear that right up :P
