I am Daphnes
Well, I've heard this when I was younger. We spend about 1/3 of our lives asleep. Nowadays, I've become more interested in what I'm dreaming about, and how to enjoy the less active eight hours of my day.
So I read a thread linking to the main site, and thought I'd register at the message board. I think the dream journal idea is a good one, because sometimes I can recall a dream vividly after waking up, but I start to forget soon afterward.
I also have a problem with being limited when I dream. Sometimes I dream I'm a character in a TV show, but don't have the powers. Goku without the kamehameha, if you know what I mean.
Well, enough chat. I just read paragraphs and paragraphs on dreaming, so I'm going to move on to other stuff. I shall return.

Hey there, Daphnes - welcome to the forum! :welcome:
As you mentioned, starting a dream journal is extremely important in learning about LDing. Your DJ will help you recall more dreams, and also help you recognize your own personal common dreamsigns which can be used to your advantage to become lucid.
I sent you a PM with some useful links, though it sounds like you're doing all the necessary research already - well done! :) Please feel free to post any questions you may have. Good luck and have fun!
