After puttering around the board for a few days, I've decided it was high time I introduced myself. The name's Arienne, and I've only just begun to delve into the magnificent world of lucid dreaming. Before doing any actual research and learning more about the specifics of lucid dreaming I had experienced a few-- but I'd always thought they were simply special treats that came every now and then, nothing that could be incubated or made more frequent.
Since then I've obviously expanded my knowledge-- and have slightly more of a basic understanding. About two weeks ago a lucid dream prompted me to put more effort into it and learn more about the state of dreaming. I've always had good dream recall-- despite not keeping a journal-- but after seeing how everyone stresses the importance of one, I've begun keeping track and writing things down. Since I've begun I have not yet had another lucid dream... though no doubt one will soon be on its way.
So there you have it-- my beginnings. I look forward to reading and joining in the discussions here, as well as meeting all of you and exercising my lucid abilities. :content:

Welcome to the forum, Arienne :) Very pretty name, by the name.
You definitely came to the right place to learn more about LDing. This is a great community that doesn't push the new age crap at you like some of the other LDing forums. The members are friendly, open-minded, and very helpful - I'm sure you'll find yourself at home.
As the others have suggested, check out the tutorials - loads of great info await you. :)
Keep up on your dream journal, it will become your best friend. It's essential to help you recognize patterns and dreamsigns, which will help you become lucid later by recognizing that you're dreaming.
Also, make good use of the Search function on the site. Many common questions have been asked, and answered, so search around and see if you can't dig up some good info for yourself. And if all else fails, just ask!
Have fun and enjoy your stay. :D
