Hey everyone! I found this site awhile ago and thought I would join it. Anyway, I've been working on trying to recall my dreams for a few weeks now, and I've become much better at recalling than I used to. Anyway, my dreams have always kind of been in 3rd person or 1st person, but I can't control what I actually do. But just last night, I had a dream where I actually had control over my body and I thought that I was awake. Is this another step to having lucid dreams?

Hi thar, and welcome. :)
In my opinion, yeah, that's definitely a step in the right direction. Keep it up! :D

It sounds like a lucid dream to me...you had control...you were kind of awake...or do you mean you dreamed you were awake? Congrats anyway!

Hi Jispen :) Welcome to the forum.
Yep, I agree with what everyone else has said - you're dream control sounds like a step in the right direction.
Have you checked out the tutorials yet? If not, there's a lot of good info there to help get you started. Also, keeping a dream journal is essential to your progress (so you can recognize dreamsigns and patterns).
Please feel free to post any questions or experiences you may have. Good luck and have fun!

I think that your experience sounds like an excellent start. All you need to work on now is realizing you are dreaming. As Burns said, check out the tutorials.

That's dream control without lucidity. Definitely is a step to lucidity, as usually it is much easier to have control while being aware that you are dreaming (lucid). What I reckon you need to do are frequent reality checks, as this control thingy is great, and you can get yourself to do reality checks no problem! Good luck! ~~~
