Hey ^^
I kind of liked the way you adressed every part of my post seperetaly so I'm gonna go steal that little technique of you ;-)

When experiencing it for the first few times and never having heard of it, it really is weird, but most of all very scary...imagine yourself waking up and not being able to move at all...trying to scream but finding that you can't make any noise at all...Sometimes i experience this feeling again, but after having read about it i now know that it's just something natural...it's just waking up (the mind), while the body is still asleep..Now i'm able to relax during those paralysis and can wake myself up or enter a dream...[/b]
I can imagine... I've read about it, but it must still be pretty damn terrifying ^^

At first: yes, i want to know more about myself and the world around me. It all started in a period in which i was asking myself a lot of questions about myself...questions like:...who am i and where am i standing and where am i heading...
I started to look for dreamsymbols-dictionaries, but found so much that i didn't know where to begin. Later i found out that those dictionaries could be of little help, but that i am the only one who really knows what my dreams maybe could be telling me. [/b]
hmm, I've never had a period like that.. Normally, I'm kind of comfortable with myself and can easily find out the things I want.. Though I wouldn't know what to answer to a question like 'who am I'. what kind of answer does this give?
Yeah I'd look in my dreams as well. I wouldn't expect too much from it but it might just provide me with useful information about myself :) But then again, I don't really know what kind of answers you were looking for so I don't know what to expect from the dreams at all... maybe help me understand? :)

No, i haven't thought about that possibility...maybe they really were brief moments of waking up. I had that dream during daytime, so i think REM-sleep would be the stage i was in... [/b]
Maybe it's what happened :) It would explain the moments of blinking and upon opening your eyes finding yourself in a different situation. Everyone wakes up so many times a night, but we hardly remember any of them ^^ so it's possible. But if it was during daytime and you know exactly how long you slept, it's also possible that my explanation is not possible :P REM sleep stages occur at reasonably fixed intervals. ie: you can't have 4 REM sleepstages in 2 hours of sleep...

Why being very cautious? Why being cautious in trying to find a meaning to dreams at all? Without trying to give a dream a meaning...where does that leave the dream?...why are we able to remember our dreams then? [/b]
This would have everything to do with the next thing I said ^^ I didn't mean much by it, just that most ppl I talk who are into dream interpretation seem to be really convinced that how they see it is the way it is and that other links between events and symbols are false... I know it's not exact sience but be sceptical, that's all ^^ But you already are sceptical so I didn't have to say it :)
It seems you already knew a lot of what I said about dream interpretation I said in my post ~~ Sorry if I bored you with that.

I allready am keeping a dream journal... During the time i can recall my dreams, there are most of the time 1 to 3 dreams in a night remembered...this can continu for weeks and weeks...so i think the recalling is oke.. [/b]
Yeah I would agree that your recalling is more than okay :content: But what puzzles me then are those periods without dreams... I would guess it's stress related or something, but you said it's part of some sort of freaky cycle.. Big dreams > ordinary dreams > no dreams > repeat. Right? I can't think of any cycle that would describe this. What would you say is the average duration of a single cycle? Maybe it's got something to do with your period? :o Just guessing here.. it's the only cycle I can think of.

I know...sometimes it can make me really go crazy..but then again...i like to think and think and think and dive deep in it...mostly after some time another piece of the puzzle falls in place...
The thinker...that's just me...i have never been a person for just believing in theories...i always want to look behind them and then pick things out of them which could be of use for me...not easily convinced...[/b]
That's the spirit ^^ Same here!
Another question then:
What do you hope to learn from this site/forum? What are the grey areas in your knowledge of dreams? Last post I made the mistake of just putting down all sorts of info of which I didn't know whether or not you already knew it, so I'm not making that same mistake again!
See ya!
