      Hello, i'm new......with a lucid dream question =p

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. How are you all doing? I'm new here, and i'm really into lucid dreaming. Well, lets put it this way, i'm into dreaming period. Anyways, i've been reading tons of info on the net about lucid dreaming and stuff. I usually spend 7 hours in the night reading about lucid dreaming, thats how interested i am into it. Well i've had tons of lucid dreams in the past, but i cant recall them except 1. About 2 years ago i've had a lucid dream of me flying (the average thing). I was flying in the sky, and the colour of the sky was a mixture of dark purple and dark blue. Its hard to explain, but it was nightime in the dream, and when i looked down in the dream i didnt see people or anything, i just saw other clouds moving extremely fast. The clouds were pink and were sparkling a green colour. This lucid dream was amazing, and it was the only one i can recall for a long time. Well anyway, the other night i had another dream, but i'm not to sure if it was lucid or not, most likely it was.

I've done the usual. Saying to myself "i will have a lucid dream" that night. I was picturing what i wanted to do in the dream, but that didnt work, but atleast i dreamed of something very long. I wont go in detail of the dream, because it is very long. Unless of course, you wanna hear it lol.

But anyway, the dream seemed SO SO SO real. I wasnt at the point where i can control it, but i seemed to know i was dreaming. The people in my dreams were asking me questions, and i seemed to respond by saying whatever i wanted to. It was like i could control what i wanted to say. It was pretty cool. Anyways, i'm just wondering, was it a lucid dream or not? Also, like i said earlier, it was really long. Often, different scenes would come out of no where.

For an example, i would be chasing my friend into a house (just an ordinary house). In the dream, the house would be an abandon house that no one uses. Well, when i chased my friend into the house, the second i entered, the scene would fade to white for a peek second, and the whole scene and such would change. I would see my family members in the house cooking stuff, i would see my little cousins playing games, etc. Then i would talk to a family member, and other things would happen. I would then go back outside and the scene would be totally different. The sky would be yellow, the grass is orange, and i would see a bunch of weird objects moving around. I couldnt control the scenes changing, but it was like of kind of knew what was coming next, and i could talk and respond to ppl in my dreams in w/e way.

Was this lucid? Or is it just your average dream? I've had some in the past, but its been so long that i forgot what its like.

Let me be the first to say,

[b]Welcome to the Dream Views forum Dark No0b!

For your dream, If you were aware that you were dreaming and you were able to exercise some kind of control then I think it was an LD.

Ahhh, the many inconsistencies of the dream...soon you will hopefully learn to harness it, and begin to control it, depending upon your desire. Dreams are freaky...they are so strange, as your unconscious will try to make something of it: so learn how to take the 'un' out of unconscious...and you will reach your goal.

      Welcome to the board!

Another thing: Don't get burned out...i suggest you cut that 7 hours of reading down to about 1 and a half or 2...RELAX, don't get too anxious, or else it will NEVER come. Its great to see this passion in a nOOb, but don't let it burn you out (trust me; i know how it is)

When you are lucid, you absolutely know you are dreaming. ( or at least think you can use superpowers, but use then consciously).

I had numerous dreams with me flying or levitating, but I wasnt lucid.

Most likely you werent lucid, if you are not sure...

      But it will come

just to show off my new avatar...

      and of course to say...

BELIEVE ME YOU KNOW WHEN YOU,RE LUCID!!!

but if it was low level lucidity it may not carry through into your waking consciousness so much, which might leave you doubting whether you were lucid or not...

lucid dreaming is a very peculiar and definite experience...

      SWEET DREAMS EVERYONE!!

Yep there could be no mistaking Lucidity.. You will find a feeling like no other once you are fully aware that you are dreaming. One good piece of advise would be to just pace yourself. Lowercase mentioned earlier about getting too excited.. This is true keep a moderate calmness in regards to lucidity. Make sure you check out some cool threads on dream signs and dream recalls also. And once you finally achieve LDing you can check up on some other ventures that lies within. Everyones coming up with new tricks to make it last longer or doing certain things in the dream, They are all fun. Hope you enjoy!

      And Welcome.

Hehe, you don't need to study so much about lucid dreaming as opposed to putting it more into action.

There are basic foregounds to induce proficient Lucid Dreaming. Well, first is dream recall, interpretation (dreamsigns and such), then whatever induction technique works best for you.

Thanks for the advice pretty cool. It seems like i'll do good at this, because i'm always a patient guy, i barely ever get frustrated with things. I will remain calm and perhaps i will do it again like i used to.
