Hello everyone! I recently found out about LD; it does nothing but amaze me of the possibilities, and now I'm trying to learn how to have them.

Got some quick questions:

How can you remember to reality check, when you're dreaming? If you remembered to reality check in a dream, you'd already be aware that you might be having one!

On average, how long does it take for someone to learn Lucid Dreaming and have their first decisive experience?

Does the way you breath influence how well you dream?

Is it possible to learn LD off by heart and have it whenever you desire?

In real life when you do a reailty check try and make it feel like your in a dream and really try and make whatever your relity check chage. It becomes a habit and then in a dream you do it and whoa what it changed? You do the rc a couple more times and ta da your lucid. I don't know on average some people have it the might they hear about lucid dreams. Well some people have a hard time breathing while sleeping I forgot what that's called but I wouldn't think they get very good sleep because of that. I'm not sure. My lds seem so radom I might never simply have lds everynight. People who are nartural at it do or have lds alot.

As you are walking around in waking life, you just do reality checks, and when it becomes habit, you will do it in your dream. You don't have to be lucid. Yourself in your dream will just do it.

As for your second question, maybe a few weeks or even months. It took me around a month or two. I've been trying lucid dreaming for around 4 or 5 months and I've had 3 lucid dreams, which weren't that good, but it's still AWESOME.

Breathing I think is just a way to focus for a few techniques.

And your last question, If you are good and expirienced enough, yes.

Hi, welcome to DV!

As for reality checking, like the others said, if you do it enough in real life you'll do it automatically in your dream. The trick when doing it awake is to try to convince yourself you are dreaming. Be open to the possibility that you could actually be dreaming right at that minute.

How long it takes varies greatly from one person to another. Some people have their first lucid dream just by joining the board, others take a little longer.

With consistent practising, lucid dreaming does become easier. As your recall improves, you spot more dreamsigns, which encourage you to perform a reality check.
