Hello everyone! I've been trying lucid dreaming for about 3 weeks now. I've actually had 2 so far, my first one was on my first night trying! Very cool, but I didn't have control in either one. Since I've started, I've mainly worked on my recall and my journal. I have it down pretty good, I can remember about 1-3 dreams per night. Only recently have I attempted actually inducing a lucid dream.
My first lucid hit me by surprise, I just happened to realize I was dreaming. It was quite vivid, a really awesome feeling, I tried to control but couldn't. My second came on the same way, lasted much shorter though.
For the past 2 nights I've tried the FILD technique but failed. I seem to not want to move when I'm trying to fall asleep. I will probably try some WILD and VILD next week.
I've noticed that my mind has to wander in order to sleep. I've tried visualizing as much as I could about what I want to dream about but it never happens. I rarely fall asleep if I'm concentrating like that anyway. So my goal right now is to try some of the techniques and see which one works for me. I usually spend some time reading through the forums before I hit the sack and it certainly helps my recall, but I have yet to induce a lucid.

Hi there, Adepticus :) Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on the LDs already! It sounds like you're doing everything right so far - keeping a dream journal, recalling dreams regularly, trying different techniques, and reading dream-related material before bed. Keep up the good work!
I'm sure you'll find this forum to be very helpful to developing your LDing abilites. Please let us know if you have any questions!
Good luck and have fun :)

Thanks for the welcomes. I've always enjoyed dreaming and now I figure its time to try actually controlling them.
