Ha ha ha. I have dreams about tornadoes alllll the time man!. I mean can you give a description of whats is going on in your dream when you have them? I have some pretty freaky ones.
I have had 3-4 dreams of tornadoes......like you say there really freaky....like multiple vortices with alot of detail ....i always wake up before it hits where im at though ...weird.
I had some tornado dreams. Maybe if you dream about tornados that much you can use it as your dream sign. Thats where every time you think of a tornado or is wacthing something on tornados you do a reailty check. Then if you have a dream about a tornado and do a reailty check you'll go lucid. Unless your panicking so much about the tornado... But I think most people are more clam in thier dreams.
sounds to me like tornados are your dream sign. if i were you i'd start doing reality checks any time you see a tornado (unlikely), see one on tv or in a picture, hear about one, or think about one?
should induce some LDs
good luck.
I used top dream about tornados all the time. It was one of my dream signs. I grew up in the midwest and tornado's were just as much a part of spring as birds returning from the south or leaves popping out on trees. I used to be terrified of those things as a child.
Now, years later, after using them to become lucid and flying around within them, I no longer have tornado dreams. I am saddened and miss them!! It is SOOO much fun messing with them!
Pretty much self-explanatory how I feel about tornadoes (see screename).
I, unfortunately, have the same issue as Seeker. Once they were my great dreamsign and portal to lucidity - now, the plains are quiet :( . I used to think tornadoes in dreams symbolized anxiety or fears in waking life, but if that were true I'd still be dreaming of them.
I once collected some vidoe footage of tornadoes so that I could make a "tornado reel" and watch it before bed. I never did follow through on that. I wish I had the time to do so.
I used to create Tornado's in Lucid Dreams but I stopped that becuase they always tend to become so unstable that they would come after me and I would have to try and fly away as fast as I could before I get trapped in the suction of it.
I used to have a recurring nightmare involving a tornado in the desert. It was pitch black and evil and it used to freak me out badly in the dream as it got closer.
One night I became lucid during the nightmare and decided that I had to get inside it. It was difficult to do - there was gale-force winds around it and sand hitting my face - but eventually I managed.
Inside it was completely calm. It was actually quite beautiful. I've never had this dream again (or dreamed of tornados at all, actually).
I live in Utah where we do get tornadoes, but rarely. There are about 2 tornadoes that actually touched down that I recall in my lifetime. And both of those were within the last 5 years or so. It may seem odd that I used to have tornado dreams before the time any tornadoes actually did any damage here. Sometimes, it's a ton of vortexes I believe they were called. In one of these dreams I hid in a cardboard box in a wheel barrow on the side of my house, as if that would protect me. Other times, it would be a single tornado. One of these times, I know it was a bit of a map of how my life was going to that point. I'd ended out going through a glorious white tornado that was between two tall cliffs. I knew I had to go through in this dream, and I think I got into heaven where I was told some important things for my life.
What I hated were the ones where the valley was full of tornadoes and lava from volcanoes. I think the last tornado dream I had was the one that I went to heaven.
I still remember I was in the movie theater watching some show and we were all asked to evacuate. Once outside, there was a tornado coming at us from near Utah Lake. Which was odd because in reality, I would have been facing away from the lake coming out of the theater. Well, we all went walking along the shore of the lake, me, my Mom, and my sister, and while we were walking, I was picked up by the tornado. Instead of panicking, I stayed calm and thought that I needed to stay with Mom. I was placed back down. Through my life, I have stayed the good girl I am because I didn't ever want to disappoint Mom. Shortly after I was placed back down gently on my feet, I saw the two huge cliffs with the white tornado in the center. I passed through it and found myself in a beautiful place with white buildings all around. Beautiful mansions. My sister went one way, me and Mom another. In this building, Mom was taken into another room and I waited. I remember the texture on the wall. It looked like it was embroidered onto the wall. Someone in white came to me, and we talked briefly before I woke up. I don't know the person that I was talking with, and the words are personal, so I won't share them here. But I do remember the words clearly.
As I said, I don't think I had another tornado dream since then. I just wanted to share that one because it was so beautiful. I know it was meant as a sort of guide for me. The actual parts of the dream I put in italics, the side information is in the regular text.
As a Kid, I was deathly afraid of them...I had a dream, re-occuring one actually, where I would be in the house. Everything was normal. Then I look outside And we are up in the air, inside a tornado. Next, my dad would be outside on the lawnmower riding around in the air...then my mom stuck her head out the window and the wind tore it off.
Now that I think about it, the majority of my childhood dreams are very deranged and disturbing. Was anyone elses childhood dreams like that? o_o
I have not had what one might call a "Nightmare" in quite some time... since I was very young, but I can say this: Tornado dreams often occure when one is confused or trapped in some way, Whenever one feels as if he is going around in circles, not quite comprehending something. Hence the swirling of the tornado, going around and around, chasing you... Try and rationalize what might be confusing or disorienting you. At least, this has been my experience with tornado dreams.

ive had a couple of tornado dreams but only 1 that it actully hit. it was messed up. it ripped up the house and took my bro. i was freaked out.
At the time I had a lot of my tornado dreams, Dad was emotionally abusive to my family, my parents were going through a divorce, I had problems with depression, among other things. My life has become more calm and normal since I'd had those dreams. Same thing with my volcanoe dreams. Life felt chaotic at the time. Just like those dreams were scary and chaotic.
Now I just have 2 little tornadoes. My 2 boys, ages 5 and 2. :bigteeth:
