Hey folks, Stumbled across this site and forums out of my oversized curiousity.
Very nice to see so many people involved in lucid dreaming - hopefully i'll get there myself.
What i was gonna ask is, i've read the tutorial few times and read additional links. I was able to get to recall 2-3 dreams a night now, however, havent started my diary yet. Now the thing is, when i wake up and i think about the dream i actually can remember myself thinking in the dream :"i think i'm dreaming" but then everyday things kick in, things like duties at work and such that prevent me from concentrating on that.
Here's the question: stress affects LD?
And was also gonna as, am i on a right track to the ultimate goal of controlling the dream?

First of all :welcome: to Dream Views! And second....your avatar is out of this world (is that jeremy clarkson?!..if so i LOVE top gear )....... :bravo:
Dream recall is def. a step towards helping you become lucid, and remembering your lucid dreams, let alone any non-lucid dream. So yes, thats a great start to getting on your way to experience some lucid adventures.
As far as stress is concerned, i dont exactly have much info on it (from a "professional" standpoint), but based on my own experiences, i belive stress can and does effect not only lucid dreams, but non-lucids as well. Im sure relieving this stress would benefit you in trying to experience a lucid dream, and can be anything from a massage :content: , writing things down in a personal journal, talking about things, or even performing any one of the relaxing techniques on yourself at night before you go to bed.
Some other things to think about when trying to become lucid-
Dream Journal- Dont NOT write a dream down when you remember one. Even if its 2 in the morning :P
Focus on your senses throughout the day. Focus on shapes, sizes, textures/feelings of objects.
Reality Checks. Do them often and make them a habbit. Look back on your dream journal entries to figure out what you've been dreaming of most in your recent dreams. (I.E. a car) Then you can start doing more reality checks while driving, or when getting in and out of a car. The car then becomes a sort of "dream symbol", where if you dream about a car again, you are more likely to question whether or not yo uare dreaming, and therefore are more likely to become lucid. There are also many many techniques to becoming lucid during the night (FILD, WILD, DILD etc). I suggest checking out the tutorial portion of the forums.

first of all, welcome to the forums and you have an insane avatar. its ehh creative.
misterplow pretty much broke it down pretty well for you there.
once you start questioning reality while you in your dream, i'd say its time to start doing reality checks throughout the day. whenever you think of it do a reality check.
i would suggest the nose plug reality check. it has had the best results for me. and if you feel like an idiot when you do it, pretend like your whiping your nose. thats what i do

As far as I know, stress affects every part of one's life, no matter if it is in dreams or reality.
Keep on going, when you now recognize stress you're in the middle of the road to solve it. Good luck.

As others have indicated, stress not only affects your ability to LD, but even your ability to recall your dreams. It's just something you have to work through.

Awesome advices. Thing is sometimes i get this state when i cant remember my dreams at all for few days, then i remember everything to a slightest detail. I'm still thinking of starting a dream journal. Maybe that will stabilizes the recal? What do you think?

Yeah, a dream journal will help. Before I heard about LDing I could remember about what you do, but after I started a dream journal my recall went way up.

It's fairly normal to have ups and downs. The best way to stabilize it is to teach yourself + your subconscious that it's important to you.
A dream journal is a good move in that direction, and the advice given earlier about reality checks.
I see lucid dreaming as having 3 steps: recall, recognition and control. First you need to learn to recall well, then recognise when you're in one, and then be able to control it properly.
Some tips about how I use (or used to use) a journal:
When you wake up - don't move a muscle. Literally.
I find that as soon as you move, you lose some of that 'feeling' of what was going on.
Rather lie there going over what happened in your dream. Ask yourself what happened before and after, how did event x happen, etc.
If you can't remember enough to get started, then ask yourself how you feel. What does it FEEL like you were doing in the dream. Usually there's a residual, tangible feeling you're left with, even if you don't immediately recall why.
Go over your dreams until you feel you've exhausted your recall abilities. THEN sit up and write your dreams down immediately.
I prefer to put it down in point form, and flesh it out afterwards.
Often I dont bother fleshing it out and just leave the points.
Jot down the silly stuff too. It'll amuse you later when you look back on it :D
