hey... I'm interested in LDing like most of you, I'd assume. I resently had a lucid dream (with little previous knowledge about them). I was fasinated my the realism... and surrealism of my environment. I have very good dream recall, I remember most of the details in my dreams. I've been trying alot of the techniques for inducing LDs and it seems thats none will work for me... mostly from lack of experience and minor details that I'm unsure about. For instance, if I focus my mind of something while in bed... I can't sleep. I just lay there doing nothing.... and FILDing, how am I supposed to tell how close to sleep I am? Things like that are really keeping me from making headway. Its frustrating, but I believe it'd be worth it. As I said, my recall is great already... though I did make a journal as recommended. I just need help with induction.

Welcome to Dreamviews metcalfracing :welcome:
From what you said, best way might not be thinking about it too much. Do reality checks multiple times through out the day, everyday for a while and it will become a habit and help you have lucid dreams. Also, when FILDing or WILDing, don't worry about how close to sleep you are. Worry about getting the method done. When you WILD, you dont need to sleep. Actually, the goal is to stay awake and then pass right into the dream. For the first little bit of the dream you'll still be awake.
A key point is not to worry about it too much. You do, you'll get stressed. And stress is murder for dreaming.
You can find a wealth of information on each of the induction methods through out our board, esspecially in the Attaining Lucidity portion.
Again, welcome! Enjoy our community, and if you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask! :D
