Hello everyone. From what I can see this seems to be a pretty good community. I picked up Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming, I have created a dream journal, but I still have a problem. Even if I go to bed with the intention to remember my dreams after each period, I wake up and lay there and relax, yet I still have a hard time remembering them. Is there anything else that can help me remember my dreams easier? If I go to bed at lets say 11:30pm, with the intention set, I usually wake up around 5:45am or 6, but I still cant remember! Any help is appreciated.

Hey Zaltoa! Welcome to Dreamviews! :welcome:
Dream Recall can be a pain sometimes, but its not going to improve overnight. It might take a bit, but eventually you'll start remembering more and more dreams. When you journal, record ANYTHING you remember. Even if its just bits and peices, or a place, a character, a feeling, mood or emotion. Anything helps.
Also try to wake up during REM sleep, which is when the most vivid dreaming occurs. REM sleep occurs approx. every 90 minutes into the sleep cycle. REM gets longer through out the night, and the longer REM periods are where you want to aim for, so set your alarm for 3, 4.5 or 6 hours ( +however long it takes you to fall asleep).
If you have any questions or need any help, don't hesistate to ask! We've got a wonderful and friendly community that would be more then happy to help! Be sure to browse around the board, there is tonnes of information that can help you.
Finally, be sure to check out the tutorials section.
Happy Dreaming! :)

I was reading about this song called LuxidRemix, that you should play softly with a headset on after 5 hours of sleep when we start to sleep more softly, would this help me recall dreams any better?

Dont worry this is something that will change drastically over next few weeks.
When you wake in the morning try not no move, close your eyes and ask yourself what was I dreaming?.. then when you have something, ask your self how did I got there? or what did I do before that?.. and before that?... get my point..?
Sometimes you will wake up and will only remember a feeling,, doesnt matter write it down.
What happens to me sometimes is that I wake up in the morning with no dream recall but when I'm driving to school I began to remember my dreams,, wierd I know, they suddenly start pop out of my mind..or there are daysI dont remeber any dream and there are day I remember 5 dreams with very good detail.
You will get used to it. dont worry... but remember DREAM RECAll is VERY important for Lucid Dreaming. (because what is the point of LD if you cannot remember your LD)..
If you whant to try something different try to put your alarm clock in the middle of the night// more espesific during Your REM cycles they vary but they are around 90 min and 130 min..or just set your alarm at 3am..
when it goes off the first thing on your mind should be ,, DREAM RECALL with the question WHAT WAS I DREAMING?.
Good luck
Ben

I actually wrote an article about dream recall for beginners fairly recently. You might want to check it out. But the main point is to write down your experiences. (keep a dream journal.)

Hi,
Umm yes it can take a considerable amount of time to get very good recall and I have found that it is something that comes and goes so even if you build it up you can loose it again quite quickly.
Are you getting enough quality sleep? That is very important for recall. I found that it took quite a few
weeks to build up recall enough that it was reasonably good. You should have the intention that you want
to remember your dreams before you sleep and when you wake up keep still and let your mind grasp onto anything that is there like an image or an emotion etc. You should journal everything you get even if it is only a word or a feeling because it settings your brain's attention that you want to recall. If you get in a habit of writing down everytime you wake up then your brain tends to deliver.
I went from not being able to recall anything to being able to recall pretty big dreams, even recalling conversations that dream characters had. So it is possible and be patient. It is possible for everyone to
do just got to put in the dedication.
Good Luck,
Namaste :)

Well this morning I think I recalled my first bit of a dream. For some reason I was in a bowling ally with this one girl I really like from my work, and all I could remember was I was in front of the counter trying to get a lane while she was playing some crane game trying to get some item. I don't even like bowling, nor have I bowled in years, I usually don't even think about bowling, so I'd assume this would be my first recall of a dream? They weren't visuals or anything, just like an instant feeling of what had happened.

Good Start... keep trying..
