I have a really prevalent dreamsigns. I'm always dreaming of highschool and highschool friends. I figured out these were good dreamsigns but I've had a few dreams envolving these signs and still haven't became lucid. The only time I've gained lucidity is from paralysis. I guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to have SP even though it scares the crap outta me. How can I make this happen?
Hi "tomeeka" you should give it a bit of time for your mind to recognize dream signs while dreaming. You say that your dream signs are your high school and high school friends, well next time you see the dream signs in real life, do a reality checks. It doesn't have to be when you see them, perhaps when you think about them. This basically makes your mind get into the habit of doing reality checks while you think of these signs. This hopefully will transfer into your dream.

If you give up on this and try the Sleep Paralysis technique then theres a section about that in the Tutorial Section as well.

Looks like you've got a pretty good dreamsign there. NeAvO pretty much nailed it for ya. Just know that it will work, and it will...eventually. lol.
When I first started lucid dreaming, I had a really hard time discerning my dreamsigns. It was so difficult because, unlike you, I don't have recurring people, places, or events. My dreams usually incorporate whatever's going on in my waking life.
For example, I'm playing Starcraft, I have a dream about Starcraft. So, I used these ever-changing dreams to my advantage by making them my dreamsign. It's tough because I never know how my mind will incorporate it into my dream, but it has gotten me lucid a few times.

Wow this topic's a real help. I suffer from the same problems that have been mentioned in these topics and now I know what's what.
I have HS and HS friends and my dreamsigns too. But, I never seen them in real life, and when they're in my dreams, they are like they were in high school almost 20 years ago. (wow... I'm old!)
Whenever I seem to "add" dreamsigns, I rarely see them again. Old work places also are dreamsigns for me.
It takes time, and it's never 100%... so stick with it and you'll soon get it.
Lately I've been having a lot of travel dreams because we're flying to AZ this weekend to visit family. Travelling always makes me nervous (don't know why) and I always dream worst case scenarios. You'd think they would jolt me, but they don't.
Easiest LDs for me have been WILDs... for DILDs, it's always hit and miss. The hardest part about WILDs is actually getting there and not falling asleep. :)

Ah I know what you mean! I haven't had any luck with DILDs but I have tried to WILD a few times. I have gotten to the point where I can induce sleep paralysis easily, but then fall asleep before becoming lucid.
I know this isnt really on topic but kinda fits in... just some weirdness.
In one of my dreams I'm riding in this car with two or more people (dont remember), one of them is smoking a blunt and offers me it. I respond by telling him this is a dream.. so it wont have an effect. I didnt go lucid as far as I remember.
Personally when I first started I had no luck with RCs and dream signs, for me both RCs and dream signs are hard, I think because they require some effort from within the dream. I started with MILD, WBTB, and meditation, and lucids started to occur spontaneously without me doing any RCs or recognizing any specific dream signs. I still don't have much luck with RCs but I do owe a lot of lucids to a few specific dream signs.
Maybe its because im a random person, but i have tried the dream journal thing, and nothing really happens over and over in a dream, its usually completely different, even though i know in waking life that all the stuff that happens in my dream is really really really weird, and cant happen, but i cant make myself realize hey this cant be happening.
Give FILD a try - it is real easy and produced a result for me on my first time ;)
