Congratulations CompWiz :goodjob2: and welcome to the forum :D. Well you've done the hardest part which is getting lucid for the first time. So well done. The first LDs are usually short as people tend to get excited or lose stability.
Next time you're lucid you may want to quickly try and sort out your thoughts or rub your hands ect, these all help you to maintain stability. Hope this helps :)
It was so cool when i realized i was dreaming it felt like a 6KV shock(i should know I've gotten socked by an old computer monitor...).
When i tried to move i moved my real leg and not my dream leg.
it turns out my little brother is a natural at this and he is only 8
Congrats on your first Lucid. Even if it were a short one you still got one. It's cool that your little brother is a natural. You guys have something that you can discuss before going to bed at night. Im a natural also but my older brother couldn't relate to me when I told him that I knew that I was dreaming. He laughed and thought I was lying...lol. Keep up the good work and they will become longer as you get more advanced in your techniques. :goodjob2:
Gr8,
Yeah don't worry about short LD's - its going to happen. I have had 8 and 4 of them were mega short - like - I am dreaming - uhh Awake LOL but when you get the longer ones it is certainly worth putting in the time working on LDing - the long LD's are amazing.
Just work on doing a dream journal (improving your dream recall), doing reality checks (RCs) and trying out the techniques more - you got nothing to loose by trying them each night. I just had a good experience with FILD (Finger Induced LD) so that might be one you will find easy :)
Good Luck - keep going - I aiming for LDs on demand but need to have patience :)
Namaste ;)
