Well I am 17 and a Buddhist. I am learning dream yoga and found out something called clear light well later from my brother I found out it mean't lucid dreaming. Then he started nagging me to join this forum. So I have a few questions first do you need a dream journel and do you need to do WBTB. Also is a Mild better then a Wild I am trained in meditation so it doesn't seem that difficult to cross over. Thanks in advance.

Hi there wendylove :)
1) You don't need a dream journal but it is recommended as it helps to improve your dream recall and helps you recognize your dream signs. It's pretty much the most needed tool for LDing.
2) WBTB isn't necessary but it gives you a better chance of becoming lucid. It's more of a technique enhancer then an actual technique.
3) It is better to try a MILD over a WILD because MILD is much easier then the WILD. Also most newbs that attempt the WILD first fail miserably and then become put off of LDing.
Hope this helps and see you around.

Hey and welcome
- I'd say that a dream journal is essential for 2 reasons - it helps to remember your dreams when you wake up i nthe night, and it also lets you analyse them later. I doubt many people get LDs without their dream journals
- What NeAvO said about WBTB
- If you're already accomplished at meditation, then maybe it would be OK to start off with WILDing, since the hard part is really getting yourself into that state and getting through the scary sleep paralysis bit - if you've explored this kind of thing before... well you can decide for yourself.

I heard that their is a stage where everything goes really scary. Is it scary in a Ld. Also can you die in a ld because if you get shot wouldn't your brain create the feeling off pain and getting weaker intill you die. You here stories of people dying in dreams from no reason at all.
