Hi everyone, my name is Ryan and although I've been visiting this site for a couple of years now I've only recently decided to start pursuing Lucid Dreaming again.
My first LD was during technical school when I was home for the weekend and staying at my older sister's house, sleeping on the couch. I had a lucid dream where I was fully aware that I was dreaming, but I was just a character in this "movie" playing in my head and I had no control. Still though, the experience was so fascinating (I didn't even know what to call it yet), and my searching led me here.
I'm very introverted and I've always been a vivid dreamer, even from childhood. I have had pretty good success with LD'ing, but I have never been able to control my dreams. Quite often I would become aware, but I was pretty much stuck in a place that looked like the "construct" in the Matrix, just pure white with no boundaries. I would try to create situations but to no avail, I would just usually wake up.
Graduating and starting a career pretty much grounded all Lucid Dreaming with the stress of a new job and all. But lately I've had an unction to start trying again.
So that's pretty much it for now. I'm very glad that there are sites like this one to help explain what goes on during night hours.

Hi Mathetes! Welcome to DV!!!
That's nice that you already have vivid dreams regularly... that's half the mile walked already. As far as taking control of the dream, its mostly a matter of truly believing whatever you have in mind, and practice makes it perfect. :)
Good luck on your journey to more LDs, and feel free to give me a shout if you have any questions.

Any preferred method or technique you're going to try out?
