I've been interested in lucid dreaming and obe's for years now, particularly after I experienced a spontaneous lucid dream that left me pretty amazed

Keeping a dream diary has been useful and I've found that my dreams have become more intense, vivid and memorable. Recently though they have mostly been about death!!! Last night, for instance, I was aware that Ted Bundy (the serial killer) was lurking around - he 'stole' a woman and two children in the night, and left the father alone and afraid. I was an observer, and although I was kind of aware that I was dreaming, I couldn't control it. I'm not normally so depressive! It's just these dreams that are turning out this way.

So I'll look forward to exploring the forum and hope that I can learn and/or contribute

      Thanks for reading
      Jet

Welcome! It sounds like you already know what you're doing.

So you've just had the one lucid that you remember? Can you tell us about that one?

Hi pj, thanks for the welcome

Well the dream I referred to was pretty odd... I was riding a horse along a beach and we came across a small group of other horses, who began to talk (really&#33. At this point I thought 'that's weird'....and the dream became suddenly lucid. I was totally aware I was in the dream and aware I could control it - I even had a conversation with the horse about it! But it didn't last long

Another time I dreamt I was walking through a hospital (I used to work in one) and suddenly became lucid, but that time I took advantage and flew up and down the corridor a few times before the lucidity vanished.

Thinking back, I had lucid dreams as a child but didn't know what they were. I would deliberately enter a dream where I was able to fly out of the window, or float around the house.

I'd like to gain more control though, since my (few) experiences are pretty spontaneous. So I'm here to learn!

Welcome Whitby and conratulations with the lucid dream.

You seem to be a track with the dream journal too. That is the most valuable thing that you can use for inducing lucid dreams.

Keep up the good work and feel free to ask for anything.

I have used those exact same words - I had LDs as a child as well, but never recognized them. Then they went away... or else I banished them.

With a good dream journal, you might want to dig into DILD as a good place to start. Check out the tutorials section... and good luck! In the meantime, do enjoy this amazing community.
