I'm new here, but I'm hoping I can get some insight from others in my psychological situation. A few months ago I had a dream I found a physical object I wanted very much. It was for sale and riduculously cheap. I have had many dreams where I have come across this item in similar situations. Anyways, I realized it was a dream somehow. Suddenly I had exactly what I wanted, but I knew that I would eventually wake up and it would disappear. I have had experiences before where I woke up and looked for things from my dreams/tried to do things I can only do in my dreams only to be very disappointed. Anyways, I decided I was going to take this certain object back into the real world with me. After all, in my dreams I am all powerful. It made perfect sense to me that I could do it, because I could do anything. So I thought about it for awhile and decided that since my consciousness can bridge reality and the dream world, why couldn't an object? I came to the conclusion I would need to replace the object I was taking from the dream with something from the real world, so I decided to leave my pillow. Poof, object gone, pillow there. I woke myself up and looked around all excited... nothing.
This is not the first time I have attempted to control the real world from my dreams. Does this happen to other people often? A lot of the time I try to do things that really aren't cool, but I'm on a power trip because of the whole being god-like in my dreams. Comments?

Well, if you somehow manage to pull in a dream object into the "real world", please let us know - that would be a first.
One thing you have to keep in mind, though (no pun intended :D ) is that the object you see in your dream is in fact an IMAGE created by your mind. A memory of an object, and not the object itself.
However, if it is possible to travel through time and space in dreaming, you may be able to locate where a certain (real) object is in the waking world, then go out to find that object. Look into "remote viewing" if you're into that kind of thing.
