Few questions
I often wake up in the morning around 7 and go back to sleep. During this time I usually feel like im only half asleep, and this is the easiest time for me to remember my dreams. I often feel like im affecting my dreams, but not consciously. I occasionally feel like I can guide my dreams by thinking certain things, but i don't do it on purpose, My mind usually wanders and sometimes i can get it to wander in a certain direction, but that's about it I can't really "control" any of it.
My questions is: Is this the proper setting to start having lucid dreams? And will practicing dream signs help me to begin to control these situations. Or is there something else i should be practicing? Thanks.

To answer your question, mornings like you describe are the absolute perfect time to work on lucid dreaming. In your case, you are slipping constantly between wakeing and dreaming awareness. MILD and WILD are VERY effective under those circumstances.

I just wanted to say that for once in my life I am looking forward to sleep and I'm not bored with sleep.
I was introduced to the concept of Lucid dreaming about 4 days ago and have started my dream journal. I have been able to remember 2 dreams a night 2 out of the 4 nights.
I have not had a lucid dream yet. or if i did i don't remember it. But i am just as excited to have regular dreams. I forgot how much fun they where. I have never really been a huge dreamer, in fact i used to believe that I never dreamed.
Through auto-suggestion I was able to set the location of a dream on my first night. I told my self that I wanted to visit Pittsburgh( I live about 45 miles away) and then in one of my dreams that night. I ended up at the top of mt. Washington (in Pittsburgh).
I am slowly coming around to the realization that soon i will be able to be aware while dreaming.
I think tonight im going to try to be inside of my favorite video game. I don't know if autosuggestion is the proper technique for that, but it won't hurt to try.

Hey, welcome to the forums, yeah i agree with what you say about being excited about going to sleep, i used to see it as a chore, something useless but when i discovered lucid dreaming i probably started enjoying my nights more than my days as sad as that sounds lol, just enjoy your experiences, i'd say go for the autosuggestion, its worth a try, if it doesn't work you can try something else, good luck
