Have You Ever Died In Your Dreams?

I would like to know if anyone else has ever died in their dreams? I did once. They say usually you wake up before you actually die and I usually do, but this time I didn't. I was eaten alive by a big headed monster that had been chasing me. I went in it's mouth all in one big bite. When it bit down I felt the bones crunch and I heard them too. It didn't hurt though. Then I was laying on the ground looking like Beetle Bailey laying on the ground after the Sergeant beat him up. (I hope you guys are familiar with the Beetle Bailey Cartoons otherwise my description won't make any sense.):eek:
Anyway I woke up then because I was just laying there in a crumpled pile not doing anything anyway and the monster just walked off. It was also a completely white background.(weird)

i kinda died yeah
i had this dream once that i was soo small
and i kept getting flushed down the toilte
and i felt like i couldn't breath and i died.
then became alive again and done the same thing over and over

well i dunno i didnt die but

i once had a nightmare where i'd normally wake up, u know, bunch of zombies after me, they got me cornered, but when they started eating me i didnt wake up that instant, i felt them eating my shoulder, felt really nasty

after a few munches i woke up

Yes, I've died a couple of times in my dreams. Nothing overly violent, I think maybe I was shot. I didn't feel any pain and there was such a sense of peace that came over me. Imagine floating in a nice warm swimming pool and you get kind of an idea. Not a care in the world, I knew my battle was over and was looking forward to seeing what was now waiting for me.

Too bad I woke up.

I still carry this memory and sense of peace with me to this day and as a result look even more favorably upon my own death. I can't wait to see what's waiting for me!

Well I also normally wake up before I die ( Aint it classic :D ) but theres only one dream ( as i remember ) in which I died. I (too) was shot by a (corrupt) policeman. I didn't feal any pain, but all horiblle thoughts of going to hell freaked me out. Then everything went black ( in my dreams ).Then I woke up.
Thanked God and promised not to do bad deeds.

Heres something more interesting: On a TV programme (about dreams) I once heard an expert saying that dying in a dream is pretty common and its a sign of happiness and prosperity.

So dont worry about such dreams. And dance like this crazy banana. :banana:

I cant die I only pretend to be dead in dreams and usually when I get killed it gets me lucid, not for long though. :(

To Seeker: An interesting perspective. Personally I hope to find fun and excitement when I go. Why does everyone want peace, seems like it would get boring after awhile.

I died once (a few times but this one I didn't wake up before hand) and it was a horrible feeling for the first few seconds then very peaceful. There was this monster that was going around killing people, it looked somewhat like a raptor but with one huge claw for it middle claw (about 1 foot long). It would kill people by pushing the claw through people's brain. I was hiding then when I looked behind me it was there, it grabbed a hold of my head and started to push the claw through my head. I felt extremely cold and terrified my body then started to go numb and I couldn't breath or speak. Then everything was black and I felt warm and at peace, I was so inexplicably happy it was weird.

Homer2020: That sounds similiar to my dream except I didn't feel any pain. I just heard the crunching of my bones and then I was off to the side looking at myself on the ground. It got boring when I didn't get up and the monster left.

I died once in a dream but woke once inside the coffin. I was looking down from about 15 metres at my own funeral. My coffin was in a huge oak panelled room, infront of a roaring log fire. There was no other furniture in the room. My family were all there and I could hear myself calling out to them that I was not dead, but no one could hear me. I was then loaded into the hearst which took me and my coffin to the junction of a nearby motorway. Here I was discarded as it seems coffins were regularly collected by a truck which picks coffins up from the side of the road. I kept calling out and banging on the coffin lid but no one noticed.
Had this dream about 15 years ago, only had it the once.

I died a few times in dreams. One time I got shot in the head, the other time I got multiple shots in the chest but I was reanimated, and I also remember getting myself electrocuted but I'm not sure if I died...

I did come back to life all those times, though. I don't think you can REALLY die. You just feel like you died...

The electrocution dream and the one in which I got shot in the chest were pretty intense, though! I really felt the panic of dying!!!

I had a weird dream once, all i remeber is being in a desert right on the edge of a city with, i dunno like these weird little people like oppaluma's say, and i wanted to get away and well i knew it was a dream so i jumped down this hole to try and kill myself, it didnt work. I layed at the bottom and then these little people came up to me, and then reality kicked it.

Also I had a most awsome dream it was like that really old computer game in that shark tank kinda thing, well yeah there was like heaps of sharks and i realised it was a dream so i pretty much let them eat me, and i kept respawning it was pretty mad for a while, then i woke up.

To Sarin: Pretty neat that you kept letting them eat you. Must have been a weird sensation. I don't think I could do that I would wake myself up.

I've died twice during dreaming in the past couple years or so.

The first one, I was shot w/ a shotgun, and felt all the individual pellets hitting me. I felt pain, but it was mostly b/c I intended myself to feel pain. After this particular death, I woke up in the normal waking world.

The 2nd one, I died from being shot multiple times by a belt-fed .223 AR-15-type rifle. This one though happened when I was experimenting w/ really trying to capture the transition moments between going into and out of sleep; I laid in this completely dark void until the scenery of the next dream came about. I stayed in that void for what felt like only a couple minutes until the scenery of the next dream hazily appeared...like i was regaining sight from a blurred vision.

i think these experiences came about mostly b/c i intended them though...i dont think there was too much significance.

I was killed in an apocalyptic war. Everything was black and text blinked. I think it said: "You didn't make it"

I Died In A Dream Once, I Dreamed I Had Been Hit By A Car And Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene, Although I Was Actually In A Coma And That The Paramedics Had Got It Wrong, And I Was Put In A Coffin And Buried Alive, And I Came Out Of the Coma When I Heard The Sound Of The Mud Being Shouvled Down On top Of The Coffin And I Became Very Scared And clostrophobic And Started Screaming At The Top Of My Lungs But No One Could Hear Me And Eventually I Ended Up Suffocating to death.

that dosnt sound to fun for you, mostly when i know its a dream, i dont mind a bit of torture cause you know its all a dream, but still i like to visualise a nice place and nice d/c.
at the moment i have a cold and one of my comman d/c last night told me i was sick, and i just replied "oh you dont say".

Hmmm, I remember when I was quite small, kinda died. A snake spitted it's venom all over me, I became paralyzed or smth...just laying on the ground and wathching the sky...couln't hear or feel anything. After a while I woke up.

If you died in you're dream you would be dead in real life. That like saying have you woken up in a dream, if you did wake up you would not be in a dream you would be in real life. If you died in a dream you would be dead in real life.

You can pretend you're dead however you can't be dead. Also nobody alive has exprienced death so you can't say it was like being dead.

when i was little, like about 3 years old, i had dreams/nightmares where some guys were after me to kill me! this lasted like a year or something... very long time! :?

Anyways, i still remember one dream, and like half of another one!
the guys were always the same.... in every dream...

the one i remember better is one that i was going to the day-care center, and i was late... so nobody was on the corridors... the door to the class was close to the bathroom one, so i was going to the class, and these guys came out of the bathroom with a stretcher and they picked me up and arrested me to the stretcher, then, my view changed to a top view, kinda like a security camera, and then i saw them cutting me into little cubicles, and then i woke up and got up and started running throu the house and saying: "Mom, mom! they r after me!"... it was allways like this... they allways came and do something to me! my mom was freaking out, but then, suddently the dreams vanished!

the other one i had with the same guys, was one that i was kinda like in west or something, in the cowboys land! :p and i was with my grandmother, who is a little fat, anyways whe were going to a tavern which was next to a cliff, and when whe entered... the guys were there among a lot of western look a like guys... then they spoted me right some seconds after i saw them, then they started to get up to catch me, and i was olding my grandmothers hand, then i started to run pulling her to run as fast as me, but she couldnt, and the guys were getting closer and closer to me.... then i cant remember anymore... :? i dont know if they catched me... if i've fallen off the cliff... i dunno

anyways they were not lucid dreams, cause i didnt knew i was dreaming, well i was only like 3 years old so.... anyways i just remember those dreams as if i had dreamed them tonight or something!

I have died once in my dream. I don't really remember how I got to that point but I was lying outside in long grass, someone cradling me in their arms. I don't recall any wounds so it was almost as though I had collapsed. I remember the breath escaping from me and then a floating feeling as though my soul was escaping. I kissed whoever was holding my body, on the forehead.. and then I woke up..

I died and had a body bag zipped up over me, i could see the zip closing above me and people looking down crying :?

i once had a dream that I was fighting a tiger, and it had scrathed my leg and I died? I kinda just layed there dead i guess, then woke up to see that my dog had jumped onto my bed where my legs were.

I died once in an LD. In the dream, I wasn't sure if I was dreaming or not but I kinda knew i was yet I still had doubts. So I said what the hell, let me jump off the roof of my house and fly. Only when I jumped off I didn't fly. I fell straight to the groud and died. Then I felt my ghost self get back up and then a big "Game Over" sign started flashing like a video game. It was kinda cool actually.

I really can't recall dying and staying in the dream. actually I really don't die much. Sometimes I wish my dreams were a little more violent.

I want to get shot in a dream and then pull the bullets out like in the matrix. Except not like with all the digital stuff, just reach in there like a ghost.

Somebody else in this thread had a dream with a flashing sign telling them they died after they died. I think that is really amusing and ironic at the same time. I guess you can't doubt what is happenning if a big sign is flashing telling you what is going on. These dreams are fun!:cool:
