if a LD is only a half second long, is it really a LD?

ever since I was 3 or 4, in every dream I ever remember having, at the very end of my dream, just before I wake up, i realize that I am dreaming. Sometimes I can't even think of the entire sentence "Oh wait this is a dream" before i'm awake. Does this count as a LD?

also, this is my first post... so hello everyone in the dreamview community.

Rafeofhyrule, lucid dreaming is the realization that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. So, if it's an hour or only a second.. if you have that realization, then yes.. it counts as a lucid dream!

As Clairity said, that's technically a lucid. Hopefully you'll get a substantial one soon, so that you'll really know the feeling.

I have had 1 dream this month where I tweaked things and then let the dream go on. Then I had one where I realized I was dreaming and woke myself up. I didn't count those. I only counted the one where I stayed lucid for awhile. I'm glad to know that technically those count but for me I think I will still just count the ones where I stay in the dream.

A lucid dream is knowing you're dreaming regardless of the amount of time involved.

After you've gotten familiar with things around here, you might read up on dream re-entry. That might help you get the dream back.

now that i've seen this, i realize i had lucid dreams before, and i have them quite some times, but allways, when i become lucid, i wake, for example, i think: "i'm dreaming" and right after i finish thinking this i wake... i'm heading to see a dream re-entry tuto right now and see if i can ld or something once i wake up! lol! lets see if i'm lucky! :p

i hope to start lding soon! :p:D

edit: oh! and btw, some times i try to re-enter my dream, and i can for like 5 or 6 seconds, then the dream fades again and i lose it! :(

Hmm....Does it count as a lucid dream if you realize you're dreaming, but still can't do anything about the dream? I've had a few of those >.>

Yes, it counts! Lucidity has nothing to do with "control" (which meaning that you can be in a lucid dream.. but still not be able to affect any changes).

Lucid dreaming is merely the "awareness" that you are dreaming WHILE you're dreaming.
