New Dreamer
Hi All,
My name is Phillip and I am 23 from the United Kingdom. I first read about Lucid Dreaming a few days ago after coming across an interesting article on digg.com. I have always been fascinated by what goes on when a person sleeps and could not believe I had not heard of it before. After a few Google searches I came across these forums and well here I am.
I am already beginning to do regular reality checks and might try WBTB this weekend. At the moment I feel my biggest challenge to overcome is my fear of sleep paralysis. I had heard about this before LD and to be honest the stories I have heard about this scare the crap out of me. Anyone got any tips or stories about their first experience with this?
If I can get into a regular LD’s one of things I am really looking forward to doing is trying to find my dream guide. I read spiritofthewolf guide on this and I must admit to being very intrigued.
I love the adoption system you guys to help newbies, seems like a fantastic idea. If anyone would be interested in adopting me please feel free to contact me.
Anyway, look forward to speaking to you all in more depth in the future :)

Hey, welcome! :D Nice avatar. Dark and mysterious.
If you're afraid of SP, then I would recommend doing something that isn't a WILD. And keep in mind that there are many people who don't experience anything frightening.
I would suggest doing WBTB combined with MILD as that seems to be a great technique, for newbies especially. :)
(WILD = wake induced lucid dream)
(MILD = mnemonic induced lucid dream)
