      Smile Almost there again

Hello. I almost did it again! I had a long dream about me being in college and then at one point, I had a red pen in my hand. For some reason I done a swinging motion with it and it suddenly turned into a black pen! That's when I realised I was in a dream and said to my self 'reality check' Usually I look at my watch to see if it has any hands, but recently i've been using this program on my computer were a reminder pops up, telling me to do a reality check. Aswell as looking at my watch, I tried breathing through my nose whilst holding it. In the dream I held my nose, tried to breathe....and could! It was really wierd and I can remember the feeling. Unfortunately, I think due to the excitement of realisation, I woke up I tried rubbing my hands but whenever I do that, I just get stuck in some kind of black abyss of nothing.

I think my new aim is to find a way to keep in a dream when I realise I'm in it.

Congrats! Be sure to keep trying! My first couple LDs were like that, where it only lasted a few seconds.
While there is a lower class, I am in it.
While there is a criminal element, I am of it.
While there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

Hi. Congrats on the fleeting lucidity.

A good way to anchor yourself in a dream is to find your hands and just look at them. I don't know for sure why that works but it does. After you've checked them out calmly look at the dream scene that's built up around you. Check out objects for a few moments at a time. It usually makes the dream more vivid. Try to stay calm and appreciate the world that you've created. Once the dream is stable then go nuts and have fun.
