Hey, new here... got a question already ^_^

Ok, I'm having a problem with becoming lucid and controlling my dreams. my dreams don't seem at all like actual life, like it is just like I'm watching myself do stuff on a tv or something. so the times in which I am lucid it's like ok what now? I've had minimal experience with actually controlling my dreams but for what I have had I think I can tell that it is still just like I'm watching the dream on tv or something. so at best it's like I can control a show I'm watching, but not like I'm actually there and controlling stuff around me. so it's like I'm lucid but not, since I can't make any use out of it, and in some way still not aware that it's all a dream, just like ok I'm watching this stuff that's not real and I know that but that's as far as I can get. I also have a similiar problem with my dreams not being anywhere near vivid enough. I'm fear that no matter how good I get at controlling the dreams it just won't be realistic enough for me to care. any advice?

      Welcome to the forum Mbmoses!

The problem with vividness might be linked to how good your recall is... Do you keep a dream journal?

Good point Aphius. Dream recall helps with vividity.

I keep forgetting too... I will try and remember tonight... we'll see if it helps... but actually my dream recall is usually pretty ok, I can remember at least one dream a night usually.

If i sleep all night and get up in the morning, i usually remember only 1 dream, but if i drink some water before sleeping, i wake up, write down my first dream, then go to bathroom, then fall asleep, when i wake up i write down my second dream, and today i even remembered one small fragment from my third dream, but its only small fragment. 'i hit reset on my computer when brother was playing game on it'

Dream journal could probably help plenty in that situation or you could also try consuming melatonin to make your dreams more vivid. I have heard that people that have 3 person dreams, have a bit more difficulty in becoming lucid, so you might want to try extra hard

If I am not mistaken that avatar is from "Abre los Ojos" (the original spanish version of which "Vanilla Sky" is merely a cheap copy of..it doesn't look like the mask from VS)

      no

it actually is from vanilla sky. Which i love very much despite it not being the original. from what I hear the original has better more moving peformances but lacks the visuals that vanilla sky has. And the music is diff and all those reason is why I love Vanilla Sky so much. I still really wanna see the original too though... btw, fight club is another one of my favorite movies.

Yeah...Vanilla Sky is ok, as I said before I like the original a bit better, but that doesn't make Vanilla Sky a bad movie...
