What method was this?
It started out as just my imagination, I saw nothing in my eyes, just my head. Then it became real. Was it a WILD or MILD or something else? WILDs usually take some time, this was a smooth transition and I felt no vibrations or hypnogogic lights or anything.

I think it was more likely a WILD but you didn't experience the transitions that alot of people do, its common for people not to experience the vibrations or hypnogogic imagery or SP. If it works for you keep at it!

It's my impression that seamless transitions from visualization to LD are best categorized as a VILD - Visualization-Induced LD. Of all the things I've tried it's one of the ones that have gotten me closest to an LD, but I rarely have the concentration needed to engage my senses in a fabrication (sight, sound, touch, the works).

It really sounds like a WILD, to me. Good job.

Yep, I agree - WILD. Most of my WILDs have occurred in that same manner - out of darkness.
Transition stage is very complex in that when it happens
1) We may not recall it correctly (or at all), and
2) Is hard to distinguish the line between dream and wakefulness. It's a very gray area.
