I was just wondering if you would call LDing a hobby.
well, thefreedictionary.com defines a hobby as "An activity or interest pursued outside one's regular occupation and engaged in primarily for pleasure" so that would make it a yes. Even without using a dictionary definition I would say that it fits the general usage.
I would, yes.
While it's hardly a conventional hobby, such a playing an instrument or running, it's still a nice thing to so in your free time, which is what a bobby essentially is.
You bet
you should have made a poll. :)
oh and i would say yes
Yes I would.
I really enjoy my normal dreams too wish I could make a movie out of them ;)
I.. don't really know. To me LD's are more of learning experiences. :)
Well, Music is normally considered a Hobie. But most serious musicians wouldn't think of it that way. Lucid Dreaming is probably the same way.
definitely
yup
When I tell people about my investigations into LDing it tends to sound like a hobby, so I reckon in certainly is. Calling it such also makes it sound more like a light hearted curiousness than an altering of consciousness, a concept commonly attached to illegal drugs.
Not that it matters. Those who think LDing wrecks or negatively alters your body function are ignorant anyway :)
Its not your average hobby but i'd class it as one, definately my favourite hobby, it uses my night time and i learn loads throughout the day :)
Nah, I wouldn't call it a hobby, but it is a good way to use your time asleep... Well actually, guess it could be, the act of learning about it, meditating, etc....
I'd put it as a hobby. It falls into the category of things I get terribly interested in and entertain myself with and annoy the hell out those around me by not shutting up about it. Though, it's not as tangible of a hobby as say, yo-yo.
hobby .. obsession. :smitten:
You say poh-tay-to .. I say poh-tah-to. :bigteeth:
