Is this normal?

Hi, im new to this forum, here is my story:
First ill tell you about the dream i had last night:

It was dark, me and my girlfriend were in this dark room. When the light's turned on, she was dead. And my brother was the man who killed her. There was suddenly a loaded gun on the ground, i had to choose weather to foregive him, but this was diffrent, instead of the dream playing it's self out, i had control, it was wierd, well it turend out, i did take reveng :mad:

I've done some research on this, apparently this is "Lucid dreaming" but... i have never had one before, and the way i understand it, having a lucid dream for the first time and being 100% able to control it, that is rare... Is that normal?

Technically, a lucid dream is a dream in which you know you're dreaming. If you definitely knew you were dreaming, then it would be a lucid dream. I think you can have control without being lucid.

I remember a dream I had years ago. I was with a group of dwarves and I said "Sorry but I have to wake up now. Bye" and I woke myself up. I'm not sure if I knew I was dreaming or not; I don't think I was.

That's all I can really say about that, but I'm sure someone else will help answer your question.

As far as I know lucid dreaming is when you realise that you are dreaming and manipulate that.

It isn't simply taking control of the situation.


I'd say you didn't have an LD, just a rather dramatic dream.
