I would maybe not try techno music because it doesn't seem to be the calm sort of music, music in general can be quite distracting when trying to fall asleep, just control your focus by focusing on your breathing, that is the best way i have found

I usually listen to classical music at night, set at a very low volume. If it's too loud it distracts. If it's too low I find that I will start focussing on trying to hear the music and that drags me out of whatever progress toward sleep I'd made.

Any kind of music is useable just so long as it isn't too loud.

I've been listening to a mix of indie rock tracks for the past 4 days with mixed results on recall. I went lucid last night and recalled the songs that were playing, will try them again to see if they're a good luck charm! :p

As I drift off to sleep, sometimes it's like scenes were playing in my head, coordinating with the music. Like a dream soundtrack. It's pretty cool really. I might try playing only instrumental tracks tonight and see what happens. Classical may be your ticket, I dunno.

I usually listen to the radio at night and sometimes fall asleep with it on (I'm using giant over the ear headphones because my earbuds broke and I never bought new ones, so I have to listen on my back). It doesn't really seem to matter to me what I'm listening to. As long as you don't focus on it then it shouldnt make a difference. I find Christian stations always good because there is preaching which is someone talking about morals of life which we can all relate to, as opposed to ShowBiz Tonite which one of my local radio stations plays from the Headline News feed. I don't care if the bad girls of Hollywood are out of the clinic and back to bar, or going to jail. I don't want to know about Paris or Brit. Talk shows can be good too as long as its not really about an issue that inflames you. Back to the Christian stations, they also may play soothing music later at night so it doesn't wake you up as suddenly. I don't really like falling asleep to CDs because I'm kinda waiting for them to end especially like a 20 minute LD induction one. I prefer the neverendedness (haha idt thats a word) of the radio and that it makes me feel closer to a reality (if the world was going to end, they would have it on most radio stations but if I'm listening to a cd then I could miss all the excitement.

OK enough ranting, basically I'm saying that for me, the radio is good and it doesnt matter what it is as long as it doesnt inflame you.
