Hey mershwista,
I once meditated using some inscence sticks to try and help me become lucid once early in the morning, it unfortunately didn't work however i did have some really vivid dreams when i fell asleep however i wouldn't recommend it because i had someone around to make sure that the inscence sticks went out properly whilst i was sleeping, you don't want your house burning down whilst you sleep. Just be careful whatever you try. I wish i could suggest more, maybe you should try some techniques :) Oh, i hear that taking Vitamin B6 helps with remembering your dreams, this may help you out :)
This is interesting.. I have seen on tv and old movies where people would set up scented candles and inscents to meditate, but I do know from my personal experiences of it to induce anything. It's merely a scent.. But I'll see what google has on it.
Thanks for the ideas...I wondered about it because I've personally seen aromatherapy and essential oils help with physical conditions...namely, they will get rid of tendonitis and headaches for me without me having to use any sort of commercially available drug.
Okay, -thinking back alittle- smell is a sense just like vision and hearing. I remember from class, Native Americans had several methods for experiencing lucid dreams and OBE's, one of those methods involved inscense. They made them from plant matter and medicines. Look up spiritual inscense or something relavent.
Also, I've heard of people that remember certain smells from dreams that contained some significance to them. A young lad whom I'm friends with told me about her dreaming about her grandmother who died when she was very young. But she remembered that her grandmother carried a certain scent to her. She smelled the same scent every time she experienced this recurring dream where her grandmother would sing to her. She learned the lyrics thru these dreams. One day, she told her mother about the dreams and the song. It turned out that the song was very old and her grandmother sang it to her when she nursed her as a baby. So when ever she sings the song, she remembers the smell.
Anyways, I got a little off sorry, lol. But I hoped that helped.
