Fans?
First off, cool site..
I've been interested in lucid dreams for a while now, this is the first site ive checked out, much less joined, though.
I've had maybe 2 LDs in my life. (one of them i still remeber vividly to this day. nothing like the feeling of suddenly becoming lucid.)
Thinking back to this dream, It happened after I woke up one morning, went downstairs, and ended up falling a sleep again on the couch.
If I'm not mistaken, waking up for 15 minutes to a half hour before falling back to sleep helps aid in gaining lucidity. fair enough.
BUT, the other lucid dream I had/remeber was also on my couch..
While sleeping on the couch, is the only time I sleep without a fan (the louder the fan, the better for me) in the room.
Could sleeping with a fan next to my bed be decreasing my chances of having a lucid dream?
anyway, glad i found this site. Hope to stick around.
easy..

I don't think it would have any affect to be honest. My ex had a fan in her room, and it never prevented me from lucid dreaming. A lot of people have reported that getting up from their beds and going to sleep on the couch has helped them become lucid so this might be more why you do.
Added to this and the fact the WBTB (Wake Back To Bed) technique is very good for becoming lucid.

No way! Like you said waking up then soon falling back to sleep (or naps) augments lucid dream chances. Maybe also that you slept in a place different from usual gave a jolt to your subconscious. But not obtaining lucid because of a fan? Hogwash, I say! I've fallen asleep with music on and off and have had success with lucid in both cases. If you are used to the fan than I don't think there would be any reason why it would affect you at all.
Welcome to dreamviews~

goood, I'm interested in upping my lucid dreaming abilities, but don't know if I could sacrifice my fan in the process.
thanks.

It should really be easier to LD with a fan, since the noise would make you sleep lighter. But who knows
