Hey guys, This is my first post here, but I'm not new to LDs
I'm just wondering how everyones experiences with Lucid Dream Induction Devices have been. I tried the NOVADreamer a few years ago with Great success, unfortunately I broke my novadreamer and can't find anywhere to get a new one. More recently I tried the induction device included with the "Lessons in Lucidity" package and it worked just as well for about 1/8th (20$) the price.
Anyone else tried this? I definately suggest it.
Hi there Elliot and welcome to the forum.
I haven't had any experience so I can't be any help, however this forum offers a great amount of help.
Most of the help is in the Tutorials Section.
I'd then suggest you start on your dream recall by using a dream journal. This will be your most important tool as it will help you to remember your dreams and notice dream signs (similar patterns in dreams that usually happen, ways of telling if you are dreaming).
For Induction techniques, I'd suggest you try the MILD first mixed in with a WBTB.
There is also an Anagram List in the Tutorials as well to help you know some of the abbreviations.

I have used all 3 induction devices (novaDreamer REM Dreamer & dreamMaker), I personally find my brain tunes them out quite quickly, but if I only use them occationally then I will get the odd LD from them.
I dont see any LD induction device on the page you link to, and I dont see how anyone could make one for 20 dollars. Can you describe what it is and what it does exactly?
Are you blatantly advertising?

No my first post was asking about peoples experiences with LDIDs, and I mentioned the ones I used as an aside. Someone replied kindly with a reply and since they had never tried an LDID I suggested one that I'd tried. You guys are really good at making new users feel welcome.

Hi Elliot.
I made my own lucid dreaming triggering device. i simply recorded my voice on a cd and i kept repeating things like "you are dreaming, you are alseep in your bed right now and you are dreaming". the whole CD is an hour long and i wake up every morning ay 3:00am and start the cd and then go back to bed. i've had tremendous success with it. none of the other methods help me (WILD, WBTB).
Agreed. I use auto suggestion files to play about mid morning and let them loop all morning during the later REM periods. Most of my dream journals are titled "audio file triggers lucid". I think its a very powerful method and works well for me.
Ah yes, I use my own Subliminal Audio as well (my own voice on a casette) and I play it every morning during my REM sleep cycle. It's the only thing that works for me too. It's funny because although I usually hear it in my dreams and I figure out whats happening, sometimes I'll hear it in my dreams and my dream characters will make ridiculous excuses to why the voice in my head is telling me I'm dreaming! WHY DO DREAM CHARACTERS GO TO SUCH EXTENSIVE LENGHTS TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE NOT DREAMING? IT'S NOT LIKE WE ARE LOSING SLEEP MY REALIZING WE ARE DREAMING! I HATE HOW DREAM CHARACTERS ALWAYS TRICK ME! LOL

There are plenty of free alarm clock programs as well that can trigger mp3 files. Some let you even set multiple alarms such as this. This thing doesnt seem like it would really allow you to actually sleep.:eek:
