I had my intention what I wanted to do, and I thought of it, along with becoming lucid and that I would remember the dream when I went to bed. Then, I had a LD, where I don't know what triggered my lucidity exactly. Without any apparent reason, I just suddenly realized that I am dreaming. I could remember what I wanted to do, and I did. But I could not remember where I went to sleep, which was a strange experience. Is this the way a MILD works?
I am more experienced with WILD's so far.
Hmmm... I actually think that's a VILD. VILD is where you "incubate" a dream where you become lucid. MILD has a few other steps, including waking up during the night, and writing down a dream that you remember. Then you visualize yourself continuing that dream, except you RC and become lucid.Quote:

Sounds alot like a DILD to me, when you spontaniously have a LD. A MILD is when you repeat to yourself that you will have a lucid dream just before you go to sleep.
Hmmm. I didn't visualize anything, nor have I done a RC. I concentrated my thought just as described when I went to sleep. Also, waking up wasn't included in that intention.Isn't any LD a DILD, except when it is a WILD?Quote:

Well techniqually yes. Most ways of becoming lucid branch off from a DILD. However these techniques help to get lucid. For example the MILD will put a message into your subconscious, making you get lucid after a while.

It's often hard to be able to say whether it was a MILD or a DILD, because to do so you'd have to know the exact reason why you became lucid.
Now a MILD stands for Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream. If you were to look up Mnemonic in a dictionary, you will find that the concept in itself does not necessary realy on verbal commands, but generally speaking, with lucid dreamers MILDs stand for lucid dreams in which you strongly imprinted a verbal keyphrase into your mind right before you went to bed. "I will lucid dream tonight" being the most common.
The idea is that this 'last and clear memory" will reach into your dreams, into your subconscious, and trigger a lucid dream. Although with just one dream, it can be very hard to discern whether the lucidity trigger was actually the mnemonic command, or whether it was simply a spontanious lucid dream.
In the end though, it was a lucid dream, that's the most important thing :) If you feel that what you did helped you get lucid, continue doing it, see if it gets you consistent results. If it does, you can probably say with some certainly that your lucid dreams are mnemonically triggered. Regardless of how they are caused though, make sure you don't forget to enjoy the lucid dream itself :)

That's the strange thing about it. I don't know the reason. In previous LD's, I'm quite certain that I always became lucid of one of the following reasons:Quote:
