Diffaculties
I've been working on Lucid Dreaming here for, yes let me say it. . . one week.
Not big deal right? Well it seems that my first few nights where the most productive. And recently I've been having problems with keeping 'awake' as I go to sleep. I just drift off without realizing it. And on top of that, I've been having a hard time remembering my dreams. I end up remembering them half way through the day, or a few hours after I wake up.
Is this normal?
What are some good ways to strengthen my abuility to stay, 'awake'?
Are they any good ways practice while I'm awake?
-I know about realty checks, I do that regularly
-I know about medition, I try to do that twice a day.
HALP!

I'm assuming your trying to WILD, right? Don't try it when you first go to bed, sleep 5ish hours first. And don't worry if you don't succeed right away, that's a hard technique, especially for a beginner. Check out some WILD tutorials, they have some tips for "staying awake".
Sometimes you'll see something in waking life that triggers a memory from your dreams. This happens a lot to me too. Start a dream journal if you haven't already, and write down anything you can remember. This really helps with recall.
Just remember that it can take a while before you get your first LD - it took me about a month.
Hope this helps! :)

Good advise above. Keep going with the RC's and get that dream journal happening. Have it beside your bed and as soon as you wake from a dream, no matter what time it is, write it down.
From experience, I can tell you that your best chance of achieving a WILD is when you lie down for an afternoon siesta. They are normally very light sleeps in the REM mode which is ideal for a LD.
Dont expect to have a LD soon. In fact, I suggest you dont even try for couple of weeks and just concentrate on dream recall and RC's. Anxiety can hamper LD success and if you dont succeed, frustration adds to it.
Good luck and welcome.
