Novice with succses
Hi All. For about two month now I`ve been searching the internet for information about LD. I first now realized it had a name. In the last ten years these dreams have returned to me more often but still maybe only between five or eight a year (as far as i can recall). My LDs are most often OBEs when I take a nap during the afternoon or just before getting up in the morning. A few times I also had DILD where i suddenly realize I`m dreaming.
The reason for my sudden interest now comes from one experience I had two month ago. I had one of my OBEs that always starts in the room that I`m sleeping in. I walked out of my room but woke up.. A bit irritated I wanted to go back to being lucid I suddenly felt like being sucked in great speed trough a dark tunnel. Every thing around me was suddenly extremely vivid, more then before and my lucidy lasted for about a 40 seconds (usually I wake up after ten seconds). I now realized that I could have some kind of control over these dreams so I started searching the internet for this exiting ability.
I was surprised to find that so many others have experienced this things. Reading post here at Dream Views made me realize that many people have exactly the same experiences as I`have had.. I started doing RCs all day long hoping I could reveal my dreams so I could get lucid more often. I have always had a good dream recall so I did not have start with that. After two weeks I had my first DILD, but I woke up right away and ended up in a OBE... Just one week later I had my second DILD where I also woke up and went in to a short OBE. Since then I have experienced Both DILD and OBEs sometimes two times a week. Some very short other up to 40 seconds and really vivid.
I have had great success in reading about others experiences and testing whats working for me. RC is the real secret even if I can wake up thinking "How could I not tell it was a dream?" My latest RC trick is to look at my reflection in any glass, window etc. I find it to trigger my lucid experience because I rearly see my self in reflections..

Hello Elsig and a BIG WELCOME to Dreamviews.
You sound exactly like me in your LD history but you seem to be more of a natural. (only it took me 49 years) Congratulations. You will find heaps of advise here and techniques that will improve your skills, especially your ability to control your dreams.
I would say that the most important skill for you develop now is making a habit of doing reality checks. During your dreams you need to be able to become lucid so that you can control your dream and that is what the reality check is for. In the past you have recognised an incident or act during a dream that was not natural and that has made you lucid. Add the reality checks during a dream and you will become lucid more often and have more control.
I have been telling newbies that the best time to initiate an LD is during an afternoon siesta and your experience supports this. In the mornings after a good sleep when you just want to snooze is also a good time.
Anyway, Enough rambling. Welcome again and enjoy this site. Was good to read your intro.
I invented and posted a quote earlier,
"LIVE YOUR DREAMS TO THE FULLEST, NOT JUST LIFE"

Thanks Ronstek.
Motivation is not any problem for me and I have swore to my selfe to do my best to master WILD even if it will take me years... Well I have already started well of in that field too but I have only come to this soft floating state and hearing "hovering" sounds where I get really scared of what comes next... Funny. I want to go futher but it scares me really bad.. :-)
