sleep length
hi there,
relatively new to LD, though, after reading the full site, i've realized that i've definately had a few LD's in the past.
i also found the whole "problem solving" aspect pretty interesting. in the past i was convinced i solved some proofs (im in math ) while sleeping that i couldnt do while awake, and now it kinda makes some sense.
i had a couple of questions:
-how much more difficult is it to achieve LDs with irregular sleep hours?
-does sleeping too long (i tend to sleep up to 10/11 hours pretty regularly) affect achieving LD's?
thanks.

Hi 3mph, welcome to the forum!
I believe there is no such thing as sleeping too long when it comes to trying to achieve lucid dreams. Dreaming occurs during the REM stage of sleep. The length of this stage increases as the night progresses. So, the more sleep cycles you go through, the longer your REM period becomes, the greater the opportunity of having a lucid dream.

last night was the first time i was conscious about trying to remember my dreams / trying to get lucid if i could.
interestingly, i managed to remember about 4 dreams (whereas ive never been able to remember any before) and i managed to get lucid in one.

That's good. Start writing down your dreams (there is a forum here for that,) and no, to both of your initial questions. I usually get about 9 hours of sleep, sometimes I sleep in all day though and have lucid dreams. I also have times where for many days in a row I only get a few hours of sleep and I have lucids then too. It will effect the quality of the dream, but not quantity.
