Dying and Not Waking Up
Note: I haven't had a Lucid Dream yet, but I've come close. :|
95% of the time when I die in a dream, I wake up right after, usually sweating and with an increased heart rate.
The other night I had a dream where I tried to fly. So I was standing on this really high building and I jumped off. I ended up hitting the ground and it felt like I was crushed.
The funny thing is, I didn't wake up. I just layed there for a while not able to move. Just laying there. I never got up. :paranoid:
Has this ever happened to anyone?

If you were physically not able to move, what may have happened there is that your body tried to wake up after you died in your dream, but wasn't quite ready to wake up yet, so left you suspended in Sleep Paralysis, which is halfway between waking and REM sleep.
There's lots written on sleep paralysis and freaky experiences with sleep paralysis, abbreviated SP. Do a search.
Welcome.

I'm going to agree with InnerSpaceCadet...you probably, at the moment of impact, expected to feel the waking sensation, and went into the intermediate stage between waking and sleep...Sleep Paralysis.. unable to move as you slowly woke, convincing yourself you were still there beneath that tall building.
Either that or a very long, drawn out death in the dream :?.
Yeah..Welcome to Dreamviews..a good place to be
