Don't give up, and DON'T tell yourself you can't do it. Tell yourself you can do it, and will do it. I haven't had one yet, but I am still trying and I still believe I can. Maybe you aren't trying enough. Remember to keep a dream journal, do reality checks, and try different methods. And you might try some different lucid aids, like taking vitamin B6. And if none of the methods work for you, try to make one up yourself. Just don't give up.
You might try doing some other practices with the mind, such as psychic abilities. I'm not sure if those help, but it can help you focus and practice doing other things with your mind.
Don't give up, ever. Take a day or two off if you get very frustrated, but don't give up. Giving up is just like killing yourself, except maybe not as severe. But you get what I mean.
You know something funny about dreams? I bet you HAVE had a lucid dream, if not many of them, you just can't remember them.
When you wake up, don't move. stay in the same position you are in and just try to remember your dream.
This kind of goes with b12's post - how is your dream recall? Dream recall of 1-2 per night is best, pretty much essential, for two reasons. One, you have to be able to remember your lucid dreams, and two, you can look over your dreams to get a feel for what your dreams are like.
Oh, and you're wrong. You CAN do it! :)
Dear Deamhope111:
Please don't give up. I have been trying for many months as well, and I FINALLY had my first lucid dream on November 28th.
I think reality checks have helped me out the most. Are you trying to get in the habit of doing reality checks regularily? Maybe you could make a CD with your voice on it reminding you to do reality checks, and play it quietly during the night time while asleep?
Best way is by doing RC's on a regular basis by doing RC's when something weird happens in RL (real life) so you'll get into a habit because most things in dreams are weird/odd. But don't get into RC's to deep because if you do it too much without thinking you'll just do it without your sub-consious knowing what you want to expect so there for you don't realize your dreaming. Also DO A LOT OF DREAM RECORDING AFTER YOU WAKE UP FROM A DREAM.
If you want too get LDs here a Very ... Very simple method for them
1. Always Keep a Dream Journal
2. Do about 20 Reality Checks every day
If you do that everyday you got a very very high chance of getting a LD
Keeping a dream journal is #1.
You can do it, you just havent found the way that's best for you yet.
Don't obsess over it, it'll come eventually, just keep working on your dream recall.
how do you get a lucid dream coz im just a newbie
Galantamine is the single most effective tool I have found. The first time I tried it, I had my first lucid.
The WBTB technique also seems to be a big winner, and reality checks have an important role, too.
