Hey, everyone.
Hey everyone out there, name's Chelsea. I just picked up LDing not too long ago (about a week). I know it takes some people a while to get started but I've noticed that I'll be running into problems, most likely. See, I easily can get things stuck in my head (songs, sayings, sounds, etc.) or I think about things that happened in the past (mostly bad things). I also find it hard to get myself relaxed, and it also takes me a while to fall asleep (example: I got to bed at 11 and I don't fall sleep until 12 or 12:30). During that time I tend to forget about what I wrote in my dream journal. :undecided:
So, I was wondering if any of you could give me some ideas on what I should do and even some ideas that I could try for a good first LD.
-Thanks, Envy.

Welcome to Dreamviews! :)
Some simple meditating exersises might help you get the songs/sounds etc unstuck and relax. Try to empty your mind, and think as little as possible. Don't get upset when a thought is forming in your head, just let it pass. Focus on something, like your breathing. When the song or sound is stuck, think of a random word, and use it as a distraction. Think of the word, television for example. Repeat it in your head to stop thinking of whatever thought is bothering you. I believe this is called a mantra, and it works well, at least for me. I know it sounds silly, but counting (sheep) might also help, at least with songs stuck on your mind. Chamomile tea has a relaxing effect, and might help you fall asleep faster.
