a new realization
I was thinking back to when I was around 10-12... and I think I did used to have lucid dreams....
I remember I used to wake up alot during the night, and would fall back to sleep. I'd have "story" dreams where there was something going on, but I could change the way it would go, because I knew I could somehow... those were weird though... I think I was still aware that I was in bed when they happened, so I just kind of assumed that I was actually still awake, and my mind was wandering... It wasn't all the time though, sometimes I felt immersed into what was happening. After reading up all about LDing, I'm pretty sure that's what it was now.
Do you think that's what it was?

Hey Grithic...
I had a similar thing, when I was younger I used to have lucid dreams without really knowing what they were.
My wife in fact also has story dreams, where she isn't actively in the story but is able to change things.
Those story dreams are definitely lucid dreams, but they probably varied from a high level and low level lucid dream, from you description.
(Basically, that means it was sometimes very lucid or not all that lucid. The lingo again .. haha :) )

Yep they were prolly lucid..
It's funny, when I had them as a kid I didn't think it was a big deal at all. 8)
Do you think it helps to develop your ability to LD if you remember having them as a kid? I think what I'll try tonight is remember a LD from way back when and picture myself back in it. Would be great if it worked. :D

Perhaps :)
It might be one of the reasons why a dream journal works - it fixes the previous dreams in your mind for longer.
Also explains why LD's normally come in bunches in that case
All theory I suppose...

Sounds to me like you were having dream control WITHOUT lucidity (or very very low lucidity). I have those often, along with other members of my family. We don't know we're dreaming at the time, but we can make things happen the way we want, including continuing a dream after awaking. I was able to attain lucidity finally in such dreams by starting a dream journal and doing reality checks.
You and I are just a few of the odd birds who develop dream control before lucidity. ;)
