New to the forums
Hi all. im new to the forums but im pretty well read up on lucid dreaming, astral projection and OOBEs.
The only Lucid dream I recall was when I was 13, im 27 now. I had fallen asleep on the couch in the middle of the afternoon. In the dream I was in a large room, size of a football field and about 20 feet high. THe walls were concrete, near the top were a series of beachball sized windows with light comming in.. the bottom 3 feet of the floor was water. I dont recall when i became lucid, but i knew i was dreaming and had alot of fun flying fast and letting my feet slide through the water.
After doing that for some time. I saw a very large inprint of my own face in the ceiling. So i flew up and pressed my face to it. Then I saw the couch and tv, and heard my brothers talking. and someone walked by.. very close all i saw were the legs. All from the perspective that i had before i fell asleep. wich i thought was really cool. I woke up shortly after.
Wicked cool, and i remember every little detail from colors to feelings and sensations. Never after have i had one, and never have a remembered a dream so clearly and completely.
Any help on why i only had one, and what i might be able to do to have some more would be greatly appreciated.. ive read the tutorials, and have a dream journal going. First night I remembered 5 dreams, second 3 third 3, 4ths only 1. hope tinight goes better than last.
Anyway im asking for the stuff that perhaps some of you have found that work for you but might not be in the tutorials, or covered elsewhere.
Thanks

Hey, what's up rifraf? Welcome to DV. That's how you can remember your dreams so vividly. ;)

Welcome to DVs :) We accept all sorts of rifraf around here! heh
Anyways, if you are looking for specific techniques on how to become lucid, then I would check out the Attaining Lucidity forum, here: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewforum....3b7bedf0af2e44f
If you are are looking for ways to control your dreams, or methods to prolong your control, check out the Dream Control forum, here: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewforum....3b7bedf0af2e44f
As far as newbies are concerned though, my first peice of advice would be to create a steady DreamJournal for atleast 1 week, before actually trying to induce a lucid dream, or attempting to take control of a deram. You may be thinking to yourself, "hey! thats no fun", and I understand where you'r coming from, because I skipped that step and I'll let you know where you'll land yourself -- a big pile of frustration.
DreamJournals are critical for improving dream recall and identifying your dreamsigns, which give you the ability to take control in dreams.
Anyways, enough lecturing, I'm sure you have a pretty good idea of what you'r doing  Have fun, and keep dreaming!

Re: New to the forums
Welcome to DV rifraf!!!!!!!!
WOW that was quite an impressive LD! And that's great that you've read the tutorials and started a dream journal with much success. Now my advice would be to just let this stuff sink in a bit. And after you've got a substantial journal going, you can go through it and look for recurring elements or dream signs. If you want you can also try doing reality checks, though the dream journal worked best for me after I was writing in it for about a week. I also recommend attempting a WILD.
So just make yourself at home here, and if you have any questions about LDs or the forum in general, please don't hesitate to email or PM me.
Glad to have you rifraf!

Heya, Welcome!!!! :D
You had that LD in the middle of the day, eh? Does anyone know why naps can produce effective LDs? I figured they couldn't, since it's not enough time to get to a long enough REM period, but hey, I guess I'm wrong!
Anyhoo.. try some techniques while napping, since that's where ya had your first one! :)

ok
Well last night wasnt a very good recall night for me, only recalled segments of 2 dreams.. Imagine because my son kept waking me up. what made it different is that i didnt recall any dreams at all , i actually concentrated and thought for a long time and bought the few segements to mind.
@scwigglie I wish i could take afternoon naps.. I was 13 then.. now I have a career, home business, wife, and 2 children. I only sleep at night, somtimes i work through half of that. :)

Heh, my father has that too. He still takes naps though. It's actually quite annoying.. he comes home and goes straight to the couch to sleep. :?
Well anyhoo, I hope ya find your technique!! :D

ah
Yeah. well i had a pretty good recall this afternoon. i managed to nap with my son. It was vivid but not lucid. and fairly short.. was on a large wooden dancefloor, everyone was dancing solo, I was very very nervous to be out there.. started dancing, then i started spinning.. the sensation of being nervous and dizzy when i spun were very impressive even after i woke up.

WELCOME RIFRAF!!!!
Generally most feelings as experienced in dreams do stick on after one wakes up. Pain is the most common one, I guess...
