Apprehensive

Hello everyone, I am a christian and have experienced a lucid dream before. I have just now become interested in this again. But as I look back, I remember having tried to achieve lucidity on two occasions and the results were disturbing

The first involved sleep paralysis, I felt as though I was sucked into my bed and heard the sound of being pushed into the bed. I thought This will be cool I know i'm dreaming I can do whatever. But then I went into a dark room a well maybe, And I heard what I think was an evil laughing and I felt something coming toward me. My eyes were glued shut and I managed to open them just before the presence hit me. I was quite shaken up by this.

Then a few months ago I realized I was dreaming and Almost immediately the happy upbeat mood of the dream turned dark, and again I felt a presence coming and I couldn't stop it. I woke up unnerved again.

I am kinda weird when It comes to dreams, I haven't had many, if any nightmare minus my two lucidity experiences since I was Little.I can usually recall my dreams easily and Things that are scary to me in real life such as a decaying corpse don't phase me in my dreams and I see them as strange but not scary.

Finally my biggest concern in lucid dreaming deals with my faith. As a christian I have a bad feeling about lucid dreams. Are they from Satan or are they demonic? becuase both my experiences have been horrible and disturbing, Im shaking just writing about them right now. I would like to hear from everyone, but especially a fellow christian.

I don't call myself a Christian, but I believe in God.

Lucid dreams are not demonic themselves, nor from Satan. You might feel that they are, while having them, if you fear them or expect them to come from something evil. Lucid dreams come from within yourself. :)

I just read about lucid dreams as ways to contact spirit guides. And i have heard of some horrible things happening throught that such as running into satan and his demons and being stuck in a nightmare for months.

im christian, and i say confront ur demons. as for ur nightmare lucid dream do the same, apparently lucid dreams are a cure for nightmares. just think that it cant harm u then change the dream. i havent had a lucid dream yet (cept long time ago) but ever since iv kept a dream journal iv gotten more vivid dreams. but thats irrelevant...

Joetaff, I'm a Christian and I look at my ability to lucid dream as a gift from God. :)

You just have to remember that Lucid Dreams are just like any other dreams, except you are concious in them. Being a lucid dream, your conciousness and control can range from all over, so dont expect to control everything in it right away.

You can have demonic normal dreams too. Its nothing to be frightened of, just realize they cannot hurt you and you are totally safe.

I hope you can overcome this and dont let Lucid Dreaming down. Beleive me and every one else here, it will eventually be very rewarding.

You get from your dreams what you go in expecting, if you go into a regular dream afraid that something bad will happen, most likely it will,

If you go into a lucid and hold fear, than your subconciousness will give you what you expect..

Just like maintaining a lucid dream needs a calm mind, maintaining a beautiful dream needs an open and trusting mind, just try to calm your fear...

I was raised in a Christian family too, and for many years I considered myself one, now I have no denomination but I am very Spiritual,

and yes I also believe that Lucid Dreaming is a gift that can be developed further with practice, and can be used for many great things such as insight, wisdom, knowledge, relaxation, therapy, communication with other souls...etc.. :)
